     Furious yelling comes from the grown man. "CALCIFER!" Enraged by the demon's doing, he stalks off to grab a cup of water.

"Swallowing a star…?" Howl paused before he answered the question. Really, this wasn’t something he thought about often and to be asked a question like this caught him off guard. What did it feel like when he swallowed his demon? Well, he was a child then and in the spur of the moment, Howl was too excited to comprehend what was happening. The wizard would have to think about that for a bit. He had heard that if one ate a fallen star then their power would be doubled, tripled— even quadrupled to whatever power they currently possessed. And such a lore was proven to be quite true for the young wizard in training. 

"To swallow a star…." Howl was still a child at heart, but to be a child one must have some sort of innocence within them, right? And that was something Howl lacked. "Stars have a strong flavor, almost indescribable. If power was a flavor, what would it be? You can’t give something like that a distinct flavor now, can you? I can tell you this: when I ate a star it burned my throat, heated my chest, and I felt a searing pain… Almost like one eating something too spicy for their tongue. I guess, stars could taste spicy depending on the star and how recently it had fallen. Caclifer was burning hot when I devoured him." His hand was idly massaging the place where his heart would have been, he winced as he thought about his encounter back at Porthaven Marshes when he was a child. "There is warmth that spreads through you as it goes down your throat, unbearable pain— but only for a brief moment— before a sense of unity with the universe washes over you. Quite beautiful, really… and fruitful indeed."
