All it took was one question to my Dad..."Who was Grandma's father?"... to open up a door to Pandora box leading to my Ancestors. That was a question I didn't ask until I was in my 30s. Growing up I had no clue, nor interest. Come to find out, my Grandmother who I had lived with at one point, was half Caucasian. Discovering my Great Grandfather gave me access to Ancestors that would have forever been unknown to me. Through this search I have discovered, Knights, Castles and things beyond my comprehension. Yesterday, I mentioned that I located my Great, Great Grandmother Martha born 1866 in Louisiana. She is the Paternal Grandmother of my Grandfather Will, on my fathers side. But a couple of days before that, I located my other Great, Great Grandmother Mariah born 1875 in Mississippi. She is the Maternal Grandmother of my Grandfather on my fathers side. It appears that the Mother's in my family line has been emerging and showing me bit's and pieces of their information. Recently, I found Mariah's marriage information to my Great, Great Grandfather Edward Moss. I did further research and gathered information on the County/Town that my Family/Ancestors once lived. It is also the place Mariah and Edward was married. I even found a picture of the Courthouse. This is some of what I read about Issaquena history: "Just before the Civil War, Issaquena County, Mississippi had the highest concentration of slaves in the United States. I just recently made a post about my Great Grandfather Will Henry Lighthall leading me to his information, that also included his Mother. Well he didn't stop there...He wanted me also to know what he looked like/his appearance. I found another record of a U.S. WWII Draft Card with his physical characteristics on it. It said he was 5'8 in height and weighed 165 lbs, Brown eyes, Black hair, and Dark brown complexion. He also had a broken left thigh, which caused him to limp on his right foot. I'm truly speechless with the amount of information he has given me today. That 11/11 portal ain't no joke. On my down time, I multi task and look for other pieces to my Ancestor puzzle. There is one particular Ancestor that shows up and guides me to his information...Will Henry Lighthall born December 1899 or 1900 (My Great Grandfather). For the past two years on Halloween, small little pieces of his information has been showing up. Now, today while searching other relatives, some how I was lead to him. On his U.S., World War I Draft Registration Card, he said his nearest relative was "Martha White". I remember searching for that particular name several years ago, and nothing came up. But today was different. Something urged me to pay attention to the County/Town on the WWI record, which was "Washington, Mississippi". I placed that information in the search and their she was in Leota, Washington, Mississippi on the 1900 census record, listed as "Martha J. White" born 1866 in Louisiana. She was located in the same County/Town, I found my Great Grandfather in 1920. I didn't stop there, something told me to look over my Great Grandfather 1920 census record again. When I looked at his information, I noticed he said his Mother was born in "Louisiana". So I took it further, to see if I could locate "Martha" on the same 1920 census record in Leota, Washington, Mississippi, and make the connection. What I found blew me away. I found a "Martha Jane" born 1867 in Louisiana, living next door to my Great Grandfather "Will". She must have remarried, because her last name was different... "Davis".
