If you're taking ficlet recs, maybe some small and sweet, like the two on a simple park date, might be nice.
i love that!!! here, i hope this is kinda what you were looking for ^^
Rohan had not been having the greatest of days, all things considered.
The printer was broken – meaning he couldn’t scan his work and send it in to the editors. To be fair, that was probably a blessing for the editors, since he was already a few weeks ahead, but it was a nuisance for him.
Then the power went out, right as he was working on a new page. He startled when the lights flickered, and spilled his ink all over his table.
Clean-up took a long and irritating amount of time. Once he was finished, his hands and arms (and pants, and shirt, and everything) were coated in black ink.
The hot water wasn’t working in the shower (the pipes never quite worked right after Josuke burned his house down) and he was out of shampoo.
As a countermeasure against the bad energy of the day, he decided to sit down in the living room, curled under a blanket, and watch crappy daytime TV.
For a while, everything seemed to calm down. The show he was watching was some trashy soap opera and he wasn’t really paying attention. The blanket was warm, and the low volume on the television felt soothing, and soon he was dozing off. Maybe he just needed a nap to get right back on track.
Except then the door slammed open and Josuke walked in. “Rohan! Where are—oh.” He took two steps and yelled, then, upon seeing the curled-up Rohan on the couch, lowered his voice. “Sorry. Thought you’d be up in the office.”
Rohan glared at him. “I hate you.”
“Aw, come on! You’re usually up there until dark! It’s still light out, I didn’t think you’d be down here… let alone napping.” The younger man sat down next to him on the couch. “Daytime TV? What happened to you, babe?”
It had been a few months since Josuke moved in with him. He had just gotten a new job at the Speedwagon Foundation, and often came home in the late afternoons, covered in grime and bruises but wearing a bright smile. To say Rohan hadn’t expected him to be home this early was an understatement.
“Shut up. I’m going to go to sleep.” He picked himself up off the couch, wrapped the blanket around him tightly, then marched toward the stairs. “You’re on your own for dinner.”
Josuke saw to stopping that. “Woah, woah!” He grabbed his boyfriend by the shoulder and frowned. “Why?”
“I might burn the house down otherwise.” The mangaka glowered and tried to move again, but Josuke was strong. “Let me go. I’m tired.”
“No, not when you’re all shitty and grumpy like that.” Josuke loosened his grip, however, and gently lowered the blanket Rohan had covered himself in. “Come on, talk to me.”
“Bad day.” Rohan growled. “Everything’s going wrong.”
“Okay…” Josuke hummed thoughtfully and lightly squeezed Rohan’s shoulder. “Let’s go on a walk.”
“Excuse me?” Rohan stepped back, disgusted. “No thanks.”
Josuke rolled his eyes and pulled Rohan towards him again. “Come on. Ten minutes. Some sunlight could do you good.”
Rohan shook his head. “I’m not dressed for going outside.”
Josuke gestured to his outfit – no visible rips or tears, but it looks pretty messed up regardless. Seems he had gotten into another scuffle today. At least whatever he had been wrestling had seen to not dousing his clothes in questionable liquids, but he still looked like shit. “Just ten minutes, then we can come back and take a shower and wash our clothes and all that stuff. Okay?”
Rohan huffed. “There’s no hot water.”
“I’m sure we can heat things up when we get back.” Josuke smiled a little and pressed a little kiss to Rohan’s nose. “Let’s go, drop the sad hobo act and go on a little park date with me.”
Years later, the term “date” still left Rohan reeling a little bit. Just enough so that Josuke was able to throw the blanket away, shrug on his slightly less scuffed but still kind of ratty-looking coat, take Rohan by the hand, and drag him out of the house.
The park wasn’t far away, just a few minutes of walking side by side. Josuke grabbed Rohan’s hand and held it, occasionally running his thumb over Rohan’s knuckles. It felt nice. Not that he would ever admit to that.
The sun was out, autumn had just begun, and leaves were turning yellow and orange and ugly and falling to the ground. Josuke stopped a few times along the way to step on any particularly crunchy-looking leaves.
“We have seven minutes left on this ‘walk’, Josuke.” Rohan swore he’d make them go home the second these ten minutes were up.
“I get it, I get it.” Josuke sounded exasperated, but not annoyed – there was no heat to his words. “Hey, I think the ice cream guy’s still out. You want to get something?” They both heard the faint tinkling of one of those small ice cream carts in the near vicinity.
“We’re adults, Josuke.” Rohan crossed his arms over his chest. “Also I left my wallet at home, since you kidnapped me.”
Josuke laughed and pulled his own wallet out of his jacket pocket. “My treat. Since my captive is being so nice today.” He tightened his grip on Rohan’s arm and pulled him towards the sound. “You can get anything you want! But if you get one of those characters with the bubblegum eyes, I get to eat the eyes.”
A quick stop at the ice cream cart later and Rohan had a popsicle shaped like Pink Dark Boy in one hand. Its bubblegum eye sockets were empty. “Five minutes.”
They wandered a little further in the park and came across some swings. The set was deserted, all the kids who would use them gone home, so Josuke immediately ran towards them. “Holy shit! Yes!”
Rohan stayed back and sighed. “Am I your boyfriend or your father?” He yelled after the younger man.
Josuke sat down in the swing and winked. “If you’re that confused, do I have to stop calling you ‘daddy?”
Rohan felt like he was going to retch. “You’re disgusting.”
“Yet you like me anywaaaaay!~” Josuke sang, kicking off the ground and swinging his legs back and forth.
Okay, so he looked kind of funny – a grown man trying to get momentum in a swing built for a child less than half his size. He wasn’t doing a very good job, but by god, he was trying. The swing set itself didn’t seem too happy about the arrangement, either, by the way its squeaks and screeches sounded.
“Honey, I think you’re going to break it.”
“Bullshit! Just you watch, I’m going to—FUCK!”
The swing broke.
Josuke fell flat on his ass.
Rohan burst into laughter.
“Hey, it wasn’t that funny…” Josuke whined as he rubbed his butt. He eyed the broken swing warily. “I better fix this. Then we should probably go home.”
Rohan was still laughing, but he managed to nod. “You looked so surprised! How did you not know that was going to happen?”
Josuke touched the swing and watched, still sore, as the set fixed itself. He turned to Rohan and pouted. “It never happened before.”
“You aren’t a kid anymore!” The mangaka wheezed. “Oh, god. Okay. Okay. Let’s go home.” He fake-pouted and gently rubbed Josuke’s ass. “You poor thing.”
Josuke hissed in pain. “You are such a dick!”
“Yeah, that’s one of your favorite parts.” Rohan took him by the hand.
As they walked home, Rohan looked up at the trees. Some of the leaves were golden, maybe even bronze. They really did look beautiful as they changed colors. And he did like the sound they made when the leaves crunched underfoot.
Josuke looked up at the sky. When Rohan squeezed his hand, he smiled.
Mission accomplished.
*Hands you a Fab*
ohmst.
(it was funnier in my head)
@anasya
I really have to try a fab tho. even tho that could mean i would have to eat myself… 🤔
You wanna make skin colour changes to a character so you feel ike they better represent you? You do it! The canon media will still be canon for anyone who really is that fussy, and we'll sit here and enjoy your interpretation on the character like reasonable adults.
thank you honestly people that piss themselves over some damn black edits because they don’t cater to them need to go outside and get some fresh air
it’s not like people don’t already make some of these character's skin darker but the second you make them black they get mad bc they’re racist
Even though it came out in 2005, do you see Josuke dancing to Hips Don't Lie by Shakira?
N-no? THAT’S A THING?? 😲

★★★★ Maybe for the jobros?
(Caesar: HELLO FROM THE OTHER SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE-)
Jonathan: He loves literature, and he’s especially fond of Victorian stuff, high fantasy, classic literature, and historical fiction. He’s been a fan of Harry Potter since the books came out!
Joseph: Even though he doesn’t seem at all like an intellectual kind of guy and seems just like a shallow TV junkie, he actually enjoys analyzing media and their components, including music.
Jotaro: He actually didn’t always have those markings on his face. They appeared gradually when he was maybe between 4 and 6 years old.
Josuke (who’s technically their cousin, but you gave me 4 stars so whatever): Because parts of his body are made of diamonds, and diamonds are made of carbon, he eats a lot of carbohydrates (bread, pasta, etc). He doesn’t know why he does this and didn’t even realize it was odd until Okuyasu commented on it.
I found it funny reading them go on about a ship that you choice to follow when its 18+ and is actually acceptable age wise in a large amount of the world instead of focussing on bigger problems in jojos like Anne's (an actual minor) sexualisation in the strength arc and ringoroadagains back story... they just go for the ships they think are bad and cant just go "eh not my thing"
yeah, i’ll be the first to admit the series doesn’t always get it right. i’ll never get over anne’s sexualization, that was fucking gross.
but eh, if they want to go after me about being a thing that i’m not, i really can’t stop them. i know i’m not a bad person -- at least, i’m not a bad person for shipping two of-age fictional characters. did they all collectively forget josuke is 23 in canon?
nice!! i've only got four 5 stars: josuke (my first 5 star, i was insanely lucky on the first gatcha haha), yukako, speedwagon and dio (*^◯^*)
though the only 5 star i really want is rohan!! i know he's not great but i can't help it, i love him too much 💚💚
