Your analysis is so so so good it makes me want to go back and reread all of csm trying to make the same links, have you always liked to analyse media? You're insanely good at it I was wondering if you have any key bits of your thought process or if the dots just connect?
Woah that's so sweet, first of all thank you so much for your support! π
It's touching because my analyses are only interpretations, and even if they're well argued, they're still personal, so I'm happy when they make sense and resonate with others.
I've already tried here to explain more or less how I do things:
I loved reading some of your theories, they're enlightening. If I may ask, how many times do you reread a manga or a scene in order to catch
But to give you a brief history, I think it's simply a question of habit: the more active you are in your reading, the more you consume different works in different mediums, the quicker and more instinctive it becomes.
CSM leaves a pretty wide field of interpretation, so it's fun, and there's plenty of food for thought.
Staying with manga, I was a very active fan of Attack of the Titans, which left plenty of room for theories and character analysis.
Contrary to popular belief, not everything in AOT is explicit, and many characters, like Eren, have suffered from idealization.
I was and still am a huge fan of Berserk, which, despite a community that adores the work, is often the victim of many misinterpretations.
I was originally analyzing AOT on Twitter, and although it was interesting, I saw a lot of resistance to analysis on this network.
The short format of Twitter is already not the most optimal, but I was especially surprised by the number of people who refuse to recognize the finesse of the writing of works they admire.
I like Tumblr because I have the feeling that my post will only fall into the hands of interested parties, people who are already in the habit of digging around and finding out more.
I think it's motivating and useful to find a healthy, interested audience for analysis.
Above all, debates also feed your ability to analyze, and even debating with friends after a chapter helps you to see how different people will feel about the same page.
In all cases, we analyze what we like
When your interest is titillated, you'll generally spend energy in that direction, and everything will take care of itself.
And then, in a mechanical way, the more you analyze a work, the more you know about it
And the more you like it
It really is a virtuous circle!!!
