📦 signal // noise 000: arrival
This morning, a box arrived. Or rather, two boxes—nesting paradoxes, analogue within digital, character wrapped in clarity.
Inside the clean lines of a Dell shipping box, foam-padded and marked by icons of global logistics, lay the original carton of a Dual CS 505-1 turntable. Anthracit metallic. Made in Germany. Still bearing the scars, stamps, and handwriting of its first life: “FRAGILE THIS SIDE UP” scrawled in thick black marker. “TOP handle with care.” And a label from Realistic Sound Centre, Birmingham, frozen in another era of audio fidelity.
It’s a juxtaposition that could only belong in Process Zine #00 — the rough warmth of analogue memory packed carefully into the sanitized flow of digital transit. Each surface speaks in its own language: handwriting vs barcode, wear vs gloss, message vs metric.
This isn’t just shipping. It’s transmission—from one time to another. Signal, cradled in noise.
