Had a really awesome bible study last night and really thought I should share some of my notes with you guys !! Remember if you've read any of my past blogs you'd know we we're learning about hearing the voice of the Lord.
Well last night was awesome. We looked over the three voices we can hear a little more in depth.
self 2. Satan. 3. God/holy spirit
Hearing from yourself and hearing from Satan are both equally dangerous. Here is what it might sound like when you're hearing things from each voice
1.self: logical, analytical, opinion through the mind, could be good, evil, or neutral. Judgement.
Satan: ALWAYS bad thoughts, negative, lustful, confusing, condemning, fearful, judgement, contrary to Gods voice; satans voice is a thought that will pop into your mind that is unwanted and disruptive.
God/holy spirit: can be spontaneous, wise, encouraging, loving, always positive, comforting, gracious, consistent with His word, trusting, ect. Conviction NOT condemnation.
So after reviewing that some people had a question about conviction vs. Condemnation.. Because there's a thin line separating the two but very necessary we know the difference.
Conviction (of God)- "ok lord, I've done this, I need to straighten this out..." God forgives you, hand it to Him after you confess it and it's gone!
Condemnation (not of the Lord)- Guilt, keeps harping on us, beat ourselves up over it, the enemy keeps bringing it back into your memory rather then erasing it
:)
James 4:7-8 says this: "submit yourselves then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you"
So it is very possible to get satan out of your head and the lord more into it! Kick yourself out too. This is a daily battle with me and something I am constantly striving for.
:)
