Biz snaps: Latest Ferrari from Naza
PETALING JAYA, May 23: Naza Italia Sdn Bhd, the official importer and distributor of Ferrari cars in the country, aims to attract 70% new customers this year with the Malaysian launch of the Ferrari California T here.
The new convertible grand touring (GT) sports car, which recalls the iconic 1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, is expected to do well in the local GT market segment, said general manager Wan Ahmad Wan Abas.
The California T is powered by a 3.8-litre V8 engine mated to a Formula 1 (F1) inspired seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and delivers 560 hp and 755 Nm of torque.
Offered together with seven years of free maintenance, the car is priced at RM888,800 excluding duty and options.
KUALA LUMPUR, May 23: Higher crude palm oil (CPO) prices as well as improved oil extraction rates saw Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) posting a 20.9% higher pretax profit to RM268 million in the first quarter ended March 31, 2014.
After tax profit rose 25% to RM208.8 million while revenue rose 38.9& to RM3.7 billion.
“Our strategy of acquiring Felda Holdings Bhd and Pontian United Plantations in the previous financial year has proven to be an exceptionally positive and ideal strategy given its impact on our first quarter results,” said group president and chief executive officer Mohd Emir Mavani Abdullah in a statement today.
“Our intention is to bolster our earnings base via organic or inorganic strategies, such as acquisitions, and we are beginning to see these strategies bear fruit.”
AmResearch upgrade for Pos Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: AmResearch Sdn Bhd has upgraded Pos Malaysia Bhd to a ‘buy’ call with a target price of RM5.50 as the company reported an improved performance in its financial year 2014, contributed by the courier segment.
In its note today, the research house said that the company’s “others” segment similarly recorded a strong growth of 69.3% in its operating profits, due to higher contributions from printing and insertion services as well as the new logistics business.
“Moving on, we expect the courier segment to continually be the key earnings driver for Pos Malaysia, through rapid expansion by capturing a bigger market share in high yielding businesses such as e-commerce.”
