The old Buckman place. I’m amazed this chimney hasn’t toppled! This is the #homestead of #AmosBuckman, who started the nearby bottling plant. I saw other foundations and apparently there were a lot of other structures in the little town’s heyday. Seems I missed finding a 12’ deep open cistern hidden in the grass & low brush, which is probably for the best. I didn’t find the little cemetery with Mr. Buckman’s obelisk headstone either. My shoes were getting soggy! The house looks like it was probably quite nice but the ruins have such an eerie and distinct look to them now. It’s fascinating.
