Bio: It’s unclear where Ammara and her twin were born. It is a well known mystery in the vampire world as the red twins are often the butt of whispers among covens. Powerful sisters loyal to one woman and seen from miles away with their long, scorching red hair. Only Astrid and Raphael know where Ammara is truly from and she does not tell anyone. Some say they are Greek oracles from Athens, a sacrifice to to the gods gone wrong. Others say they are fairy twins from Ireland who were turned and unable to return to Tir na nog. This is all rumour, all that the vampire world know for certain is that Ammara and her sister are old, powerful and very dangerous.
In truth, Ammara and her sister were both born in the black forest. Their mother had been accused to witchcraft and had fled into the bowels of the forest to escape punishment. She was pregnant at the time and when the twins were born screaming 9 months later, their mother sought to use them as a weapon. The woman was a great witch, but had been exiled by her coven for the crime of necromancy. She used the twins blood to keep herself young, taking little by little over the course of their lives. So by the time they were teenagers, their mother had not aged at all and looked to be their sister. Ammara was the younger twin, vulnerable and at the mercy of their villainous mother, who often took a shining to the younger twin for her superior beauty.
Ammara was 18 when she awoke to her mothers screams. Scrambling from bed she found her mother wielding a knife and Annora fighting her of. Ammara watched in horror as her twin shoved their mother into the fire but oddly, felt no remorse when she died. The Twins remained in the woods for another 25 years before Astrid found them. Annora and Ammara were in their 40s, their hair so long it dragged in the dirt behind them and they walked bare foot everywhere. Astrid was so taken by the twins with their matching red hair, pale skin and sharp features, that she wanted to turn them. However, the twins were soon found by witch hunters, men who had traversed the forest to find the red twins of legend. They were captured and put into chains. Astrid, furious that this prize had been taken away from her, attacked the town with Raphaels help and killed most, if not all of the towns folk.
Astrid freed the twins and turned them both. Thanks to their witches abilities as humans, both sisters gained powers when turned. Ammara and her sister were Astrids first in a long line of vampiric warriors to stand against over covens. turned them both. Due to their practice of witchcraft as humans, both sisters gained abilities. Ammara became almost godly in her power, able to create powerful red energy blasts and disintegrate anything she touched. It is not a secret that Ammara is the most powerful vampire the world has ever seen. She and Raphael are close and like to share tales of the old world, Ammara likes stories and often just sits with other older vampires to listen. Nothing, however, can match the bond she has with her sister.
Ammara loves her twin more than anything in the world and she hangs on every world Annora says. It is Annora alone who can talk her sister down and calm her. Aro has sought out the sisters time and time again, but both have declined his many offers and he is growing impatient with them. Ammara is loyal to her sister, not Astrid and would follow Annora anywhere, this is the only reason she has not left Astrids coven. Oddly, Ammara is good friends with Marcus Volturi. Their joint feelings of the mundane and low moods have them meeting in Italy the odd time. Ammara always comes home however, though her vists often serve to have her sister and Astrid on edge the whole time she is away.
