This drawing is from when I was a student, 8 or maybe 10 years ago. It is the main entrance to 'Dar ul-Funun', Iran's first modern institute of higher education, located on 'Nasir Khusraw' street. The institute was founded by Amir Kabir and established in 1851 during The reign of Nasereddin Shah-e-Qajar, and is realized as a symbol and cornerstone of modernism in Iran. The style of the building is a combination of Iranian architecture and elements of European classics, such as capitals in this drawing.
