AmerTek - Arrow SDCC Trailer Season 5
I noticed that in the SDCC trailer there is a poster of the company Amertek in the background in the scene where Ragman is attacking a woman.
In the DC universe, AmerTek Industries has a history of weapons creation and somehow always those weapons seem to find their way into the wrong hands.
On Arrow, Amertek was first mentioned on episode 3x02 âSaraâ tied to the Komodo killings and Saraâs death. BTW, a storyline that was not closed by the writers. Go figure!
Later on 4x12 âUnchainedâ the company was mentioned by Felicity in connection with an incident with The Calculator.
On The Flash, the logo of AmerTek appeared on the S2 poster and mentioned on episode 2x03 "Family of Rogues".
In the comics AmerTek recruited a young engineer named John Henry Irons to build weapons. Irons developed the âToastmastersâ (a highly advance state-of-the-art weapons) for them, but was furious to learn that their inventions were being used by gangs. Irons destroyed all his notes and left the corporation, but it wasnât over. After Irons started operating as Steel, ArmerTek stole the plans for the armor and used them to create super-powered soldiers themselves. Irons longed to atone for the deaths his designs had caused. For that purpose, he built a suit of exoskeleton armor for himself and became the superhero Steel (above)
