Calling all Toku Fans!
If you haven't seen it already, you should really check out Iké Boys, a gigantic (in both senses of the term) tokusatsu homage! It's got everything: mecha, kaiju, magical girls, and henshin, all wrapped up in an amazing package. I highly recommend it.
Hey gang, absolutely ecstatic to finally share this, but AJ and I got to sit down for an interview with Eric EcMever, screenwriter and director of the recent indie toku production Ike Boys! It was a whole lot of fun and super enlightening not just on the film but to the production process as well, and I hope you all enjoy the end result as much as I did!
Happy 30th anniversary, Power Rangers! In honor of this big milestone and Power Rangers Day in general, thought I'd post another one of my stylized Gia portraits to celebrate. I took this during my most recent shoot with Ciara earlier this year and it was so fun to shoot some portraits of her as Gia. It's always so cool to see how easily she slips back into character, she and Gia have diametrically opposite personalities!
This one's called "To Morph, or Not To Morph," btw.
So I watched the 1st ten episodes of Mystic Knights (a childhood favorite of mine) and here are my thoughts:
1. It feels like these 10 episodes could be condensed into like 5-6 episodes.
2. Oh hello early Saban era fight scenes...
3. They tamed Pyre off screen?! Oh that is just wrong. Show us that Saban!
4. The US opening song "slaps" as the kids say.
I will continue to watch and let ya folks know what I think.
