Sometimes I think about the recurring thing in the Ted Kord/Blue Beetle 2 comics where Dan Garrett/Blue Beetle 1 comes back from the dead to haunt Ted either literally or figuratively.
It only happened three times, with two of them being just impostors disguised as Dan and/or Blue Beetle 1 and the third time with it actually being a resurrected Dan, but every time it happened my guy Ted was going through it.
Like, Ted carries so much fucking guilt about Dan's death. It is literally the whole reason he's a superhero [when he's actually written well and in character] even if he's not actively showing it what with all the quips and such. But for Dan to come back and tell him that he's a fucking failure and has done a terrible job upholding his legacy... like damn. That shit's probably why Ted has the worst fucking stress dreams around the anniversary of Dan's death.
