With that being said, working wasn’t always a walk in a park. She may have been good at what she did, but that didn’t mean that some clients weren’t a headache. Obviously you can’t win them all, but that really isn’t the best mindset when the point of her career was to kind of win anything. 

Nonetheless, today was a new day. Today, she had a new client, who had been referred to her by a close friend at the station. Amelia had arrived right on time, walking through the door with a bright smile on her face, making her way towards the person whom she assumed was the face of her new case.

After a long day at work, Jake was ready to go home for a relaxing evening. Charlotte was with her mother for the weekend which meant he had the entire house to himself. As of late he always felt lost whenever he didn’t have his daughter around. A lot of his friends had left Atlanta which left him with nothing to do, but watch TV and enjoy a cold beer. Jake was in need of something exciting to happen and that excitement was coming sooner than expected. While walking to his motorcycle, he spotted a face that he hadn’t seen in a long time. Without any hesitation, Jake ran across the street, almost getting hit by a car in the process. It was worth it, because his assumption about who the blonde figure was happened to be true. “Amelia?” He said into the night air in a whisper for only the two of them to hear.

It had been an hour or two since the small group of friends arrived, Amelia already on her second drink. As she sips from the straw, she can’t help but notice a tall, muscular figure cross behind one of her friends, completely enamoring her. This became quite obvious to the few people with her, who followed her glance, which brought on a bombardment of teasing, that was soon followed by them encouraging her to go talk to him. Amelia was totally the kind of person to approach a stranger so that she could talk their ear off. So, the feeling she got just imagining it threw her off quite a bit, leaving a lump in her throat. 

Though, that wasn’t going to stop her. 

It didn’t take much convincing--maybe it was the alcohol having it’s effect on her--whatever it was, the brunette confidently made her way over to the man, sitting beside him and offering a grin to the bartender. “Can I get another vodka soda, please?” She asks, unintentionally batting her eyelashes. When the bartender begins to make her drink, she takes that time to glance to the person beside her, finally offering the stranger a smile. 

“Hi.”

The energy within the room was electric the entire time she had been there, and even though she hadn’t had a single clue what was going on, she was genuinely enjoying herself.

It was about time to start heading out for the night, so as the woman made her way through the crowded room, she spots an opening. Relief washes over her, and she rushes for that opening, when she suddenly collides with someone.

“Oh my gosh—I’m so sorry!”

“Thank you for helping me put the dishes away, Elle!” Amelia says, giving the little girl a hug, even though she was sure she’d have to reorganize the silverware drawer.
