OU MY GOD⦠OH MY GODā¦. AN AMEIRE SHIPPER!?!?!?!?!?!? feel like I just struck gold, I DIDNāT THINK THERE WAS ANOTHER ONE OF US OUT THEREā¦..
HEY HI HELLO THERE so sorry I didn't see this til today but YES absolutely been rotating them around in my mind for the last little while! I found out Ire was finally canon and 1. I am Delighted I actually love his design he's so cute, and 2. immediately went on the hunt for content and realized there's like. Nothing??? For ameire??? (Or canon Ire in general it seems???) Which surprised me tbh like Alfred is shipped with almost everybody and there's such a big Irish diaspora in the US, plus I just feel like they'd get on well personality wise? But I guess a lot of people lean into the father/son dynamic for Alfred and Arthur so Ire is almost always depicted as an aunt/uncle, which I personally don't vibe with as much but hey, to each their own.
Have a small handful of assorted (human au) headcanons to water your crops:
Ire (Aidan Kelly is the name I have for him) likes to write and has absolutely written poetry about Alfred. Can't decide if he actually shares it with Al or not but I reckon he's building up quite the collection
Does share at least some of his work with Al, and I like to imagine Alfred coming up with tunes on the guitar to match Aidan's poems sometimes - or vice versa, Aidan coming up with words to Alfred's music - just for fun
I get very touchy-feely vibes for them honestly? Not like, excessive PDA necessarily, but like. Standing/sitting close, little touches on the arms or shoulders, if they're at home one of them is probably draped over the other in some manner, forehead/nose/cheek kisses - just generally in each other's space
Took them a while to figure out how to sleep comfortably in the same bed - Aidan's all long lanky limbs taking up the whole bed and Alfred is no better TBH. They've both ended up on the floor at least once, not to mention all the accidental kicking/smacking each other.
Spooning is one of their solutions to this. As for who's the big/little spoon...I think they switch it up a fair bit BUT I also feel like Aidan would like being the little spoon a bit more tbh??
Classic "one runs cold and the other runs hot" pair with Aidan being the cold one (his hands in particular) while Al is always warm. Good for snuggles.
(Aidan will absolutely put his cold ass hands/feet on Alfred when he's not expecting it tho)
Aidan is a certified Sweater Thief. "Hey Aidan have you seen that red hoodie with the-" he's wearing it.
Both are big animal lovers - can't imagine them without at least 1 pet tbh. A cat I think, either Alfred's (or Aidan's) that he's had for years or a shelter cat they adopted together. Maybe a big dog later down the line too. (Irish setter/golden retriever mix perhaps? š)
So Much Banter - I like the hc that Ire likes people who can keep up with him and his wit and I think Alfred totally can, lots of banter and long discussions/debates and light hearted bickering with these two
Alfred struggles with reading books for fun bc he's very ADHD, but he loooves when Aidan (massive bookworm that he is) reads to him - it's a common pre-bedtime ritual for them
gotta stop here bc I have to go to bed rip BUT pls don't be afraid to send more asks if you wanna chat/share your hcs/ask me for more!! :D
I can just imagine Ireland giving America the bowl of shamrocks on St Patrickās Day like the Irish Taoiseach does for the American president irlāļøāļø
Anon!! Stop giving me ideas xDD (joking, you're the besttt, please do continue!!)
Anyway im def drawing this š¬š
wanna talk about Them (america and ireland) but instead I'm just rotating them around in my brain like a rotisserie chicken

Jones hobbies: gardening, writing poetry, farming, and playing rummy gin favorite foods: potatos, corned beef, and soda bread favorite drinks: guiness black beer and whiskey favorite animals: badgers, irish wolf hounds. irish setters, gannets, and irish terriors favorite instruments: harp, fiddle(violin),bagpipes, and flute
Accompanied by this description of the author:
this is my oc Ireland's information i wrote what the real ireland would like from my experience yes her husband is America if you dont know why cause Irelands and Americas relationship is so strong if you think im wrong look it up
Alright, whatās wrong in this profile?
Well, Kathleen is an Irish name and so is Bresnahan. So I give the creator some points. They also got the country and the capital right, so a few more points. Now to the genderā¦
āGet it right?ā Excuse me? Is that person telling me that Ireland has to be female? No seriously, what right do you have in telling the readers that? I could go around and tell all the creators of Mexico OCs that Mexico HAS to be male. I could tell all those Philippines and Malaysia OCs that they HAVE to be male as well. Tell me, how well would those comments be received? (I would be probably be flamed to death)
This is something that has been really annoying me lately. I would say roughly about 75% of Ireland OCs are girls. Most of those OC creators justify this by saying āThere arenāt enough girls in Hetaliaā. I find this a very weak justification. If you want to interpret Ireland as a woman, just do it! Stop trying to justify your reasons! We get that you prefer Ireland as a female. But stop bashing on the male Irelands and telling them that they have to be female! I choose to interpret Ireland as a male. I donāt go annoying the female Ireland OCs, even though I donāt approve of most of them. So creator, you do not tell us to āget it rightā, because it is just your interpretation. Not reality. Ireland can be either male or female.
And of course, the age. No. Ireland is not Englandās younger sister. Check Irelandās history. Iāve personally traced Irelandās birth to either 700 BC or between 1550-1200 BC. Those dates refer to the possible dates when the Celts arrived. It makes sense for me to have Ireland appear around that time. Not, say, last century or something. (if youāre implying that Ireland was born when the Republic was founded⦠just⦠consider why I and others would find this offensive)
Surprise, surprise, Ireland is married to America. Because you know, America doesnāt have strong relations with ANY OTHER COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD!! To end this, letās break down the authorās description: So, this profile is supposed to represent the REAL IRELAND. Hmm, because your opinion is now fact, eh? And I actually do know why you decided to make America Irelandās husband. You donāt need to tell me to look it up, seeing as youāre too lazy to justify it in your own words. But you know what? I would interpret this strong relationship as friendship, rather than marriage. Why marriage? You havenāt managed to explain why Americaās relationship to Ireland is so special that it deserves to be considered marriage material.
If you think Iām being too harsh, feel free to point it out. This profile isnāt too promising and the authorās attitude irks me. Do your own research, donāt command us to do it for you. And you definitely donāt tell us what gender Ireland HAS to be.
