As a fan of Jack Quaid, seeing him take on a comedic role is exciting. Close Personal Friends, a new project from Amazon MGM Studios, features Quaid alongside Brie Larson, Lily Collins, and Henry Golding. Directed by Jason Orley, filming begins this month in London.

The story follows an ordinary couple on a trip to Santa Barbara who meet a famous pair. As boundaries begin to blur, the film explores awkward and humorous situations. The tone blends situational comedy, social commentary, and human drama.

The screenplay is written by Isaac Aptaker, based on a story co-developed with Orley. Aptaker is known for his work in comedy and drama, including Love, Simon, which grossed $66 million. Orley’s previous films have had limited releases and modest box office performance, often leaning toward streaming and festival circuits.

This new project marks their first collaboration with a more recognizable cast, and it could be a turning point in both of their careers.
