Spoilers if you haven't read the issue yet
We start things off with the Amazo robot escaping with Lois and Jimmy to Cadmus and the first page of the comic mentions the Metropolis Bridge which I briefly mention here. Team Seven and the the person talking about Task Force X and Slade Wilson, Robert DuBois aka Bloodsport, I talk more about there here and here respectively. I talk more about Slade, Amanda Waller, and the robots behind her, the OMACs, here, here, and here. They are going after Amazo while Task Force X is tracking Superman.
Ma and Pa Kent arrive at the Cadmus base and we see that Amazon is covered in tinsel and asks them what it is and why do people celebrate Christmas. Ma shows one of the decoration and it vaguely looks the green car that Superman smashes against a rock formation on the cover of Action Comics #1 (1938) as seen below (Cover art by Joe Shuster and Jack Adler)
As the Kents are explaining to Amazo the joys of spending the holidays with family, and after Pa Kent accidentally turned on the PA system, Lois, Jimmy , and Clark hear the explanation about how family on the holidays is great and is always appreciated. We get a nice close up of the Daily Planet logo Lois's shirt and we see that its a close approximation to the Daily Planet logo from the 1978 Superman movie.
On the same page we also see Sam Lane and kid Lois having fun. I talked more about Sam here. It seems like the relationship in season 3 is a bit better. But you may never know things can change.
After Clark and Amazo have a psychological memory moment the entire Cadmus base gets attacked by the OMACs and Slade with Robert DuBois not too far behind them and we see that Bloodsport is using what is essentially the Gundam Fin Funnel system.
The Fin Funnel system is a psychically connected weapon system that allows a pilot to launch these flat pillars that not only can act as an energy barrier system to protect the Gundam and pilot, but it can also fire beam shots as well as you can see in the pictures from the 30th Gundam Perfect Mission and Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack.
That'll be it for the Easter eggs of Issue 4 but come back next time for episode 2 of Season 3 where funny enough the title is Mobile Suit Toyman!
