I've been meaning to polish my dev branding for a while and change my vague studio name to something more recognisable and focused on games specifically. While the packaging might look a little different its contents remain the same, so fear not! Work continues as usual, just under a different name.
Speaking of work: onto the log...!
The writing continues. It feels like it's taking a long time to make real progress, but this is partly due to all the variables I've burdened myself with.
If you were curious about what these can look like, I uploaded a preview of Ethan's encounter on patreon last week. It's been a while since I programmed anything, so that was fun to make! I touched up his CG, edited 2 backgrounds for night versions, added an expression and night filter, and played with music/sfx (still a work in progress).

This version of TSOM includes several new features. I will go over all of them in this post, in categories!
ĀŗCharacter Creator Updates:
Four new hairstylesĀ are now available for masc and fem frames. The hairstyles are the following, and have 7 color variations each:
-Afro-textured braided hairstyle with moon-shaped tika.Ā
-Straight, decorative style with soft pink ribbon
-Bridal Hairstyle, the 100+ Download femĀ milestone reward.
-Pagri style, the 100+ Download mascĀ milestone reward.
Three new outfits, available for masc and fem frames. The outfits are the following:
-Teal and soft pink dhoti + pallu,Ā accompanied by pearl jewelry.Ā
-Shiny Bridal wave sari and Bridal wave kurta (for fem frames)
-Shiny Bridal wave sari and Bridal wave kurta (for mascĀ frames)
Mehndi extra accessory in three colors, available for masc and fem frames
ĀŗUI UPDATES:
-The buttons of the UI have been tweaked for better readability. The colors of the buttons when hovered over and idle have beenĀ changed to a darker color, for improved contrast against the white background of the menu page.Ā
-The ability toĀ change the game fontĀ to an easy to read, more accessible font from the Preferences menu. Now you will be able to choose between two fonts for the game's text:Ā The regularĀ AndreaTyped bold, or the new option, a SansSerif font,Ā Liberation Sans.
ĀŗNEW FUNCTIONS:
-The game now has aĀ Ā Gallery page.Ā It has a simple and easy to interpretĀ design,Ā so that you canĀ revisit all the CGsĀ you have unlocked and see how many more you haveĀ left to unlock.
ĀŗDialogue Revisions:Ā
The dialogue and plot of the game have undergone aĀ major revision to improve tone, readability, and continuity/consistency. Some inquires have been answered,Ā new informationĀ andĀ detailsĀ have been included, and the relationship between MC and Vihaan has been tweaked to reflect the respective maturity of their age and their characters in the first moments of the game.
AĀ couple new scenesĀ have been written into the game as well, mainly regarding your friendĀ Charvi. You'll find the relationships MC has with their peers much more organic than before, I believe.Ā
In addition to that, this is a very small change, butĀ your character's name tag will now read your chosen, typed-in name, instead of just 'You'.

Woah it's been a while that I haven't wrote anything there, since I generally use tumblr rather than twitter for longer posts. So, yupā¦today is one of those days where I need to share a wall of text xD
As some of you surely already know, I attempted to dev Fujiwara:REmake with RPGmaker because of the aspect of walking around and the system of shop/items which was really appealing to me. This was two of the main reasons I switched from Ren'Py to RPGmaker and it was very fun and fullfilling at first as I learned a good amount of new things, butā¦unfortunately, the more I worked on it, the more I started to struggle and get frustrated with things that my current skills can't cover.
I thought of going on hiatus for the time I'd learn a bunch of advanced features to make the game visually more enjoyable, but I realized it would take an awfully long time to do so until I can present something decent and in sync with what I have in mind.
I'm sure most of you don't want to wait who knows more time for this project to be released.
So it's a bit reluctantly and disappointed that I decided to go back to Ren'Py, as I'm more familiar with it and that it would also means I'll work faster.
I'm really sincerely sorry for all of you who were excited to play a RPGmaker version of Fujiwara (you'll still be able to interact with your surrounding though !), but I really need to go back on a more visual novel type of game for the sake of the project.
I hope you'll understand and continue looking forward for Fuji:RE when it's finally completed !
