What happens if you pour milk on a mushroom?
I don't know the species, but if I did then you could pour milk on most fungi.

Complexity is bourgeoisie. In a perfect world, all workers would have simplified ideals and abolish the inherent human nature of exploiting others. The only reason capitalism is possible is because humans have two conflicting ideals: harm is bad, but exploiting people is somehow okay. This self-contradictory idea that is driven by the need of the rich to feel good about themselves when oppressing the working class.
The idea that a human has to be complex is a lie driven by Hollywood movies with big budgets featuring "realistic" characters who weep and angst about every move they make. Compassion isn't complex. Kindness isn't complex. The straightforward, simple ideological discipline displayed by heroes like Mao wasn't complex. There's nothing simpler than strict adherence to a manifesto.
The best thing about complex society is that there's nothing complicated about Bad Opinions being bad
Not only is "harming others" bad, but not hurting others, even if those others are in direct competition with you, is also generally good (even if indirect competition is bad)
i was homeschooled by conservative mormon parents, and it worked out really well for me! my dad taught me how to program when i was 7, and my mom read lots of history stories to me, and i taught myself lots and lots of math bc it was fun! i did have trouble making friends, and was kinda lonely, but my siblings didn't have that problem and i think that is mostly due to a personality difference, and i think if i had gotten bullied, i would have worse anixiety. i am going to homeschool my own kids!
Thanks!
Hi Alicorn! Do you have gluten free things at the dinner parties? Alex has Celiac disease.
Sometimes! The entry on the spreadsheet would be marked “Wheat Free” (in the notes, or allcaps before an unscheduled menu). The particular dinner I advertised is not this thing, but if you want one on a particular week I have menus prepped. Check the third tab in the spreadsheet for menus. Of course I cannot guarantee the standard of a kitchen void of gluten so this might or might not work with Alex’s sensitivity.
Thallium
I'm afraid this is going to be a bit awkward...
My most salient thallium-related memory is someone (I can't remember whether it was my immature middle school friends, or someone writing a book) making jokes about "Thallic symbols" similar to the atomic symbols of Dalton or the old alchemical symbols.

amaranththallium replied to your post“I have avoided physical contact for most of my life. I used to believe...”
huh, i used to avoid physical contact too, and then i transitioned and it *was* cured
My aversion was also very gender-based. Specifically because the brand of femininity that I was sold as a young person was hyper-chaste.
