In addition to my crochet and knitting, I also spin (I have my own wheel) and weave (a bit). Â I do paperwork (which is an art unto itself) and do woodworking (which can range from beds to chests to complicated angled book mounts). Â I also specialize in taking charge and being apathetic (in turns).
Note: You may have noticed that I have been referring to it as âthreadworkâ in my tags all month, even though the prompts usual ask about âcrafts.â  As a feminist, a historian, and someone who works with thread, I find it interesting how traditionally feminine tasks are classified as âcraftsâ or âhandicrafts,â while traditionally masculine tasks are âartâ or âwork.â  As such, I do not support calling activities such as spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting, lacemaking, or tatting âcrafts,â though I do support people who choose to engage in such activities.  Though Iâm sure there are numerous ways to refer to such actions, I have chosen in my personal and professional lives to refer to them as âthreadwork.â  This has been a PSA.
