The interior of the Colosseum, Rome. An original watercolour painted on a rejected piece of handmade Amalfi paper. Several sheets of the torn, ragged paper, full of holes, were given to me at the Amalfi paper mill (now a museum) when we visited in 2003. The paper surface is soft and textured and is lovely to paint on.
