Once again I forgot about mermay
introducing (finally) Amaira Laghari
From a young age, Amaira had to learn how to take care of herself pretty quickly. With a mother who steadily extended her time away from her daughter, Amaira was quick to develop a very important life skill: to be self sufficient… though it certainly came at an age that was far too young for one to learn. Not that the child ever seemed to truly complain! After all if there was nobody home to watch her, that certainly meant that it made it all the easier for her to slip out in the middle of the night and do one of the things she loved most:
Take on her other form of a fox.
It was with this form that she felt every worry she felt shed away, not having to worry about if her Mother would return or not, not having to worry where her next meal would come from. Even as she grew older and more determined to never have to rely on a single person, this method continued to be one of the few things that she turned to to feel more at ease not only with herself, but her life.
Determined to make something of herself, determined to prove that she was just fine on her own and could do anything that she wanted despite how her Mother attempted to make her feel, Amaira made her way through the academy, being stationed at one of the firehouses nearby. Not one to take a single ounce of shit from anybody, she quickly gained the respect of the men in the firehouse ... and steadily began to realize that being a firefighter was more than just going out to save people.
It was finding a family that she never had before.
No matter how long she had been on the fire department, this fact is still a hard pill to swallow for the woman ... but the brotherhood between them all is undeniable, one that Amaira is slowly but surely becoming used to ... and slower still to grow appreciative of.

Today’s daily art submission is some portrait practice. Yes, I am starting work on my giveaways but it will take me a bit and I’m going to post those as I finished them in the order received. Hopefully they’ll start showing up within the next couple days ;)
The upper left corner is a portrait of my Grey Warden city elf, Amaira. That was the look on her face when someone suggested she come help the Inquisition (also probably if she ever had to talk with Solas tbh I feel like they wouldn’t get along much lol) Then it is my first time drawing Varric and Sera. My second time drawing Dorian. Who was the hardest, I think because odd angle? We are gonna go with that :P

Finnegan is connected to these two! Him and Amaira are good friends (he knows that she’s a fox shifter), and with Kobe? Finnegan and he are ex’s, so to speak. Or more specifically Finnegan treated their time together as more of ‘having fun’ than anything, and Kobe treated it more seriously so Finnegan just noped out.
