For your ama au, I'm just imagining a scenario where Satch is sick and everyone's like "shit he's going to fired if the librarian finds out that he's not at the library". So Jirard, Jared, and Shane find a black cat (or whatever color Satch's cat form is) and they bring it to the library and pretend that it's Satch. It gets seriously funny when they notice that some students are trying to ask "Satch" (the cat) for help. Paul, Nick, and Josh film the whole scenario.

Or, the opposite of the following, no one has seen satch all day, and they see a black cat and assume its him. So he wont talk, and is acting how cats usually act ‘id like for you to touch me without actually touching me’ and people are like ‘is satch mad at me or something???’ and they follow this dumb cat all day and let it sit in on a nb meeting and then at the end of the day, Satch was like ‘ok, im back’ and everyone looks at the cat and looks at satch and are like “????????????????????????”

Blowing a huff of warm air, Jirard had finally seemed to find a time (and a place) to stretch out in his full form and to maybe relax, just this once.All thanks, of course, to the small black cat purring gently as he rubbed up against the dragon's dark shiny scales as he settled in between both of Jirard's front claws; Satch had to work to get Jirard to take a break just as Jirard often had to work to get Satch to take a break.Jirard attempted to give a loving lick in return to Satch, but merely succeed in leaving the poor startled cat with most of the fur on his back sticking out to the left- something that Jirard had no choice but to chuckle at.

Ok, some ama au headcanons. Jirard, both as a human and as a dragon, is very warm. Like, no matter what, he is always warm, even in summer which is hell for everyone except him. Satch turns into a cat, takes off his glasses and sleeps in the library to have a break. He usually sits with a witch so the librarian doesn't get suspicious.

“Jirard why did you wear a jacket???”

“oh, I??? I didn’t check the weather? Is it warm?”

The entire normal boots at once (all wearing short sleeves) are like “Yes??!?”

And they were so sure he was going to overheat but he just never does. They joke that his big ol’ heart is what keeps him warm, and hes definitely open to cuddling people in the wintertime if they need it. Probably the only person with a higher natural body temp is Caddy??

Satch tried to sleep as a mouse once and swears the librarian has extra snakes around the library thats not attached to her head??? because one definitely tried to eat him as a mouse, so cat it is. He’ll curl up behind someone’s bookbag underneath a table and take a 20 minute powernap, because if anyone needs a break in the library, its s a t ch.

Famiiiiiiliar Saaaaatch

Well some stuff that we decided that Satch has 4 familiar forms- a cat, an owl, an otter, and a mouse. It’s really a talent to have more than two forms, but he just considers himself determined rather than talented. He likes helping people (more than he like helping himself), but isn’t sure how he feels about being a familiar (often just reduced to the ‘background help’ in most conversations) (to the point where Jared’s mom literally thought Jared had been roomed with an assistant).

Opinions on Humans: slightly positive, mostly indifferent. He finds their brand of ‘magic’ (that is, technology) pretty darn cool but he never has a chance to work with it.

Why is he going to Asagao?: He just wanted something new. He definitely want sto travel the world and do new and different things before settling down to be someone’s familiar.

Satch overdoes things for other people, usually over-exerting himself since transformation takes a lot of out him, but he really enjoys helping people. Not with just magic, with in general. He just likes helping people out, making them happy, but is always brushing up on his magic studies because, of course, magic is very important and he can’t be a familiar without it.
