“ I don’t want to lose you, too. ” Riley x Daniel
daniel listened intently to riley and he nodded, the edges of his smile being pulled down causing a heart wrenching frown. daniel wanted more than anything to understand riley, to understand where she was coming from and why she was the way she was, what made her become the person she was and most importantly, why she was telling him that. walking away from her was something he could never do, something that he tried to do for her sake, for her job but found himself instead being pulled towards her.
❛ you won’t, ❜ he finally spoke, his voice dripping with both sincerity and concern as he held her in his arms. he adored her whole heartedly and in a way he probably shouldn’t, a way a married man shouldn’t adore someone who wasn’t his wife. however, a chance encounter in a bar now brought them to where they were now -- whatever they were: a boss and an employee, friends, friends with benefits. quite honestly, he would take anything she was willing to give.
❛ i want you to be able to talk to me. ❜ daniel admitted, ❛ it’s as if that hamster in your head runs that wheel the opposite way when it comes to us and i understand your worried but -- you want a friendship, fine.. we’ll be friends but if you don’t want anything... ❜ a sigh fell from his lips as he leaned against his desk, his arms crossing in front of him before green eyes locked into her dark colored orbs. ❛ put me out of my misery, ❜ daniel added, slightly shrugging. ❛ you won’t lose me unless you make that decision for yourself, unless you choose to walk away; other than that, i’m not going anywhere, riles.❜
