Scott bites his lip, is this a dream? If it is, is it Stiles’ dream or his? If it’s the other’s is he even real? If it’s his, does that mean Stiles isn’t real right now? It can’t be a dream, it feels too real. With a confidence that he doesn’t feel, he says, “It’s not a dream, Stiles. We’re awake. What’d you tell me before? How can you tell you’re dreaming? You can’t read in dreams and you have extra fingers, right?” He lifts his hands that are balled into fists and starting with his thumb, he counts, “1… 2... 3… 4… 5… 6… 7… 8… 9… 10.” He holds up his hands, a sigh of relief escaping his lips and he glances at Stiles, newfound certainty in his eyes. “Okay, now you.”
