Losing yourself is a whole lot easier than finding yourself again. I started this journey almost 5 years ago. I had just had Em. I needed to lose my weight. And I needed to find myself. Everyday I fight my battle with my depression. Everyday I have to drink water before eating so I know if I'm being emotional or actually hungry. Everyday I have to remind myself what I love all over again because some days to be real I dont love anything. But I do it. And I fight and it takes me longer than others to reach the endzone but true to my hawks I fight until the fourth quarter and I usually pull through. When I don't... The filter for this picture ran away with the filter for my mouth! Bahabahaha Okay. Entertaining myself a bit today bit seriously. No fucking filter this is me. Fresh out of the shower with soon to be wrinkles and creases and bags and red marks and splotches. I dont sell makeup. (sorry makeup friends I'm about to join Alicia keys and not wear any either) We add these filters and layers to build confidence and cover up the pain inside from stories and events as if those around us dont know those marks are still there. Or worse we hide them so well with a twinkle from last nights tears mistaken as happiness and a fake smile I myself have worked almost 28 years on that no one around me notices I'm crumbling inside until its too late. The more we layer. The longer we hide. The more we hurt. When really all we had to do was take 30 seconds in the mirror when we woke up or got out of the shower or we are going to bed to tell ourselves the truth. "I am beautiful. I am unique. I am strong.
