A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

(My personal theme for 2019; I need to be ok with being a mediocre polymath rather than a master of one specific skill.)
Working full time, mom-ing full time, and school full time. I can officially now say that I am done with school (at least for the time being) and I have my BSN. 13 months, 12 classes, and lots of work, but I did it!

Airbnb is really suggesting all kinds of oral sex seminars at me for my business trip to DC next month.

Making up for a lot of lost life drawing time. Thanks for the inspiration, @walkerfarrell!
One brave mother's story; how in the face of tragedy, she's calling for changes in current drug laws.
my advice for making comics
just do it.
just do it, just do it, just do it.Â
get a pack of #2 pencils, a sharpener and some computer paper, and make some fucking panels. JUST DO IT.Â
when i was 9 and i made my first comics, there weren't any tutorials, there were no how-to books..i didn't have anybody to teach me how to do the things i do now. i think the only instruction we got was online julie dillion how to draw anime tutorials and How To Draw Comics the Marvel Way. which, you know, nobody wants to do.Â
but that's literally all we got. i had to learn this shit myself. so you know what i did? i sat down at my desk with my shitty computer paper and 10 cent ruler and i made the shittiest comics known to man. i didn't know how to write, how to make panels, how to do nothing. all i had on me was a few copies of Naruto and a Christopher Hart book. and my comics sucked hard.Â
but i kept going, and i kept learning and reading everything, and kept drawing. and we have tons of resources now, animation/comic books, how to get published, how to make comics. read everything you can and learn. Â
you have no excuses. just do it.Â
