Your VALORANT agent pick is not your complete job description
Role labels are useful, but ranked rounds are rarely won by labels alone. A Duelist may need to create space without getting the first kill. A Controller may need to preserve one smoke for the retake. An Initiator can gather information, but the team still has to act on it.
The better question is not ?Which role am I?? It is ?What does the team need in the next ten seconds?? That can mean holding a flank, trading the entry, delaying a push, saving utility, or becoming the first contact when the original plan breaks.
Understanding every role makes agent selection easier and mid-round decisions faster. It also helps players judge team composition by responsibilities instead of simply counting class icons.
