7.27.13 my 300 post 65 until i complete the one a day. maybe i should start thinking about what if anything is next? so here’s the ALTERED BOYS in bayonne at LOT13. maybe like 8 years ago i’d posted some photos from some show on a messageboard somewhere probably livewire (was that the double crossxx one?) the photos all sort of looked like this. slow shutter tons of drag flash fired blah blah. someone in typical hxc kid fashion tore the photos apart i think the commentary was something sarcasm ladder and to the effect of “i thought we were past this style of live band photos, it should have stayed in the 90’s!” i didn’t really get offended but i (like i am prone to do) took that shit and ran with it. i have produced so few not slow shutter & drag band photos. was it to stick it to the dude who made those comments? was it just because i didn’t think i could take better photos if i didn’t use cheap tricks? was it just that i personally really liked the way they looked? commentary like that really sticks with me. someone somewhere told me once “one day you will stop giving your demos away for free and you’ll want to get paid for the songs to make!” like that was a fact. while i don’t really do the band things much anymore i did never stop giving away the things i participated in making. again, what is the motivation? is it just to live to stick it to the people who tell you how to live and what you should do? #abfu #njhc #alteredboys #isthismyartiststatement #thistrashshouldvebeenfree (at Lot 13 LLC) https://www.instagram.com/p/BnELR-6hSD4/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1hb53tzpp16f4
