Diarmuid was the only one who in his final moments in the fourth war cursed the grail (and kinda foreshadowed its true nature )Β
Β Thus he was trapped in the grailβs Β all this time and so the grail took control of him to use him as its protector and overseeing the war and so once again Diarmuid and Arturia meet again on the fifth war β¦.During the war that the 2 of them encountered each other in angsty occasions and quick fights the time came for them to face each other on the Final Duel that was promised long ago β¦.were once again it does not end as it was supposed to β¦..Arturia is able to reach out to him however the grail decides to take Diarmuid back to speed up the process of its materialization β¦β¦As he is its βchampionβ he is not betrayed he is fulfilling his duty β¦β¦even though that means another eternity inside the abyssβ¦.it is the Grailβs will and he canβt go against it β¦.and its Β almost ironic that maybe this one time deep down might have a small hope to actually betray his Β master β¦.Arturia knew she could escape Diarmuid is in a way part of the grail . In the end Arturia decides to join him so that he will not be alone β¦the least she can do β¦.she cannot make amends to her country or to the people who followed her but Β this way she can atone for what happened to Diarmuid β¦.Knowing that this will speed up the processes she has faith in Rin and Shirou to stop the Grail β¦.even when she does not know what will happen to her and Diarmuid after they do so β¦β¦And so the Grail takes them both ...
In their last moments together ....they were at peace .....
maybe the were trapped in eternity inside the abyss or maybe they were freed and both reached Avalon or the Throne of HeroesΒ
