something violet secretly wants to happen with eden
It was a cold night out, far more so than Violet had ever anticipated. The fire had taken no time at all to heat her flat, but that was most likely due to how small it was. Violet liked to call it cozy. James used the word cramped more often than not (she doesnāt know why he complains so much⦠he picked it out. She just moved in afterwards). Snow was pattering against the window pane and the sorry excuse the pair had as a Christmas tree stood in the corner, proudly holding up its three ornaments. Violet loved the dingy little place (perhaps a bit too much but she was determined not to live at her parentās place and mooch off them).
When a sound knock came from the door, Violet was tempted to ignore it, far too sound at her spot by the fireās edge. A knock came again and she grumbled as she got up, leaving her blanket in her wake. For all her pretenses, she wasnāt annoyed in the slightest at having visitors. There was always somebodyĀ coming around, even if it was just for a cup of tea. Vi rather liked the steady revolving door of visitors. It kept her from getting too lonely or bored. When she finally swung the door and was met with Edenās lanky body hidden under a thick coat, the girl had no hesitation as she pulled him inside the flat.Ā
Was she surprised that he was here? A little⦠It was Tuesday night and he normally came around to see her and Jamie on Sunday afternoons (Violet attempted to cook them a roast once. She was then banned from the kitchen indefinitely). The slightly sour look on his face alerted her to the fact that something was wrong - she knew better than to ask outright however. Instead, she greeted him with a warm smile (there was nothing at all fake about it either), and offered to take his coat.Ā
āGo get yourself a drink⦠You know where everything is.ā she shooed him off, before hanging his coat on one of the hooks by the door. With a quick knock on Jamesā door (and maybe there was a bit of shouting because have you triedĀ to wake James Potter up from a nap?), Violet made her way back to the kitchen and joined Eden at the table, determined to cheer her friend up.
āSo loser, you battled a snow storm to come and see me. Iām touched⦠but you know this means you can never say that weāre not friends.ā

Beatrice let out a fit of giggles as Eden Rosier bowed down before her, trust him to go over the top.Ā āOh shut up, just because I put on a dress and heels doesnāt mean you have to treat me like royalty. I work in a bloody potion shop.ā She shook her head before punching his shoulder lightly and moving to take his hand, anxiously lacing her fingers with his.Ā āCareful though, Iāll get used to the royal treatment.āĀ
ā = dancing with themĀ
It was the first time Bea had dragged her friend-with-benefits to a muggle club; a place that Beatrice often frequented when she went back to the muggle world to see previous foster care parents and siblings. There had been drinks consumed and the music was pulsing through her core, she grinned like a wolf at Eden. Turning around as the beat carried her, but she let out a little yelp as she felt someone press against the back of her, almost slapping them before looking up to see his toothy grin. Taking his hands, she placed them on her hips, grinding against him as the multi colored party lights shone over them, hearts beating in time with the remixes.Ā

The moon was shining over the castle, reflecting off of the Black Lake. Bea, wrongly, thought she was alone; that was until she saw a familiar head of hair and pair of eyes.Ā āJust because youāre a Potter doesnāt mean that the mermaids in the lake wonāt try and eat you,ā she teased lightly of Albus before jogging up to him.Ā āCanāt sleep? I canāt either. I think Iām overworked from the run this morning.ā She smiled at him āI think youāre actually catching up to me,ā she teased lovingly of her surrogate brotherās best friend.Ā Ā
Heās got such a big family. And they love him. Not just because they have to. They want to. They show it. Thereās no games. No forced civility. Thereās just pure love without standards and rules and expectations. Albus could show up to his grandmotherās house for a Weasley/Potter gathering in a dress with bright green hair. He could get a bit teased but thereād be no innate cruelty directed his way. Scorpius was seen by his motherās parents in his painting clothes once and he was the topic of conversation for the entirety of their stay. Wasnāt painting more of a womanās hobby? Werenāt they worried about their sonās innate femininity and sensitivity? How was he going to find a good wife who respected him when he couldnāt even keep decorum in his own home. There was certainly a talent there but did he have to keep painting flowers? No rustic landscapes?Ā
Albus also has the freedom to marry whoever he chooses to. If he even wants to marry someone. Scorpius might be lucky in the fact that his parents donāt conform to all the old pureblood traditions but they still understand how society works. Heās gotten a lot of freedom as a child and as a student. He still is expected to keep up appearances, to guard the family name, and to marry well and if possible, for love. His parents found each other in such a small social circle and there was no denying their love for one another. Who would he find? It kept him up at night. The idea his future wife was out there, waiting and maybe wondering as well. It wouldnāt be anyone tied to the Death Eaters, not with the way their image was growing. Perhaps Paige? Though her family really wasnāt high enough socially but they werenāt tainted with dark magic. What if he never found love and was stuck in a loveless marriage arranged through mutual respect? Would that be terrible? Albus never had to worry. It probably wasnāt a thought that passed through his head. Scorpius never even considered voicing it.Ā
⤠- What they thought about your muse when first meeting.
Scorpius could barely remember every detail of every last society event heād been forced to attend since birth. Or well, since heād been old enough to behave without a nanny which was practically birth. Sneaking off to the gardens or the library was his favorite trend and one that rarely got theĀ āpolite little boyā into trouble. He had found another boy his age to play with, one with dark hair and a great smile who didnāt mind being told exactly what each plant was and what it did. Even the ones Scorpius didnāt know and had to make up. Well, until Eden rudely pulled him away to find some way to ruin Scorpiusās fancy clothes. He didnāt know if Albus remembered that night. Scorpius didnāt remember it himself until a few months into their friendship first year.
āŖ - A secret theyāre keeping from your muse.
Are you a confidential source? Albus cannot know about this. Scorpius would just be heartbroken if he figured out his Christmas present in September.Ā
⦠- Something they hate about your muse.
Itās not cool to dress like fashion isnāt a real concept or art form. It doesnāt make you hip. It doesnāt make you fun. Itās slovenly and embarrassing. People will start thinking you live on the streets and stare at you in public. Scorpius would know. He spends most of his time in public with Albus. He just doesnāt understand why Albus wonāt let him buy him some tailored clothes. Itās not as though the other boy couldnāt afford them. Even so, itās a gift. Theyāre much better than your fatherās retro flannels from the 90s that Al practically swims in.
Scorpius understands Albus likes potions quite a lot. More than the average wixen but itās truly small minded to think that as a sixth year in Hogwarts you know more than the entire staff of St. Mungoās and the specialist his own mother sought out about potion regimes. If they prescribe Scorpius with something, he isnāt going to stop taking it on the advice of his best friend. Any medical advice really should be given by someone with a mastery at least. Scorpius knows it comes from a true place of caring but heās at his wits end with the constant conversations about his potions use. Canāt Albus just let this one thing go?
His cotton allergy is not fake.Ā
ā„ - Something they like about your muse.
Scorpius has had friends before Albus. Many. Okay, some. Even some heās considered part of his family. But he never had a friend he had picked, one that was wholly his to choose to associate with. Coming in to Hogwarts first year, he had already known Archibald. It would have been easy and simple to continue on his usual path of following in the background. He could stay quiet in classes and spend his extra time with Bea and Eden. But Albus didnāt expect that of him. He wanted to hear what Scorpius had to say. He laughed at Scorpiusās jokes. He answered his questions and entertained his ideas. He cared. He didnāt find the blond too shy or quiet or good. He didnāt fall back on any expectation of the Malfoy family. And Scorpius could never be more grateful.
His smile might be the first thing Scorpius was drawn to. Itās what catches his eye late at night in the common room when heās listening to Albus read their homework out loud. Trying to catch them both up on work thatās pressing. Itās the one thing that convinced eleven year old Scorpius to come out of his shell and share one of his most prized possession, his constellation light. If heās nervous or worried or even bored in class, Scorpius finds himself searching out the smile on Albusās face. Itās all he needs for reassurance. Heāll practically try any joke to see it appear.Ā
Scorpius has caught himself doing something rather uncouth lately. He couldnāt seem to stop staring at the long stretch of muscle that made up Albusās shoulders. He was absent mindly sketching them, wondering if he should pay back the massages he often received. Heād rather stare. His best friendās obvious strength was a strange realization, though one he loved. Itād be helpful if one of them could carry more than 9 kilograms. For emergencies, of course.
There was nothing Scorpius loved more than the caring nature his best friend tended to hide from the world. He knew he was lucky to be included in such a private inner circle. Albus trusted him fully with no reservations and would obviously not hesitate to help Scorpius no matter the case. That shocking, blunt honesty was still surprising but very welcome. He couldnāt imagine his life without it.
š for a headcanon about Jamesā relationship with Eden.
James is not good with words; thatās a known fact. Even if he desperately wanted to, thereās no way he could accurately describe his relationship with Eden. Or the feelings he keeps hidden inside. The sensations and emotions the darker-haired boy man provokes in him are always intense and tend to leave him feeling breathless. The same effect Eden often has on him (and other people in general). James, as an implicit rule, tries not to think about the other people in his friendās life. The feelings they provoke are always bitter and tend to leave him feeling the need to punch someone. Maybe Eden, maybe himself, maybe that girl he saw Eden sneaking out with. James is inexperienced, but eager. Boy, is he eager. But heās also scared and unsure. He used to think he was fearless, that thatās what made him a true Gryffindor; but the thought of Eden hating him has him dreaming of it at night and promptly waking with a pained gasp, eyes trying to catch his friendās sleeping form in the dark to make sure it was indeed a nightmare.
Then, maybe the best way to describe Jamesā feeling is this phrase: If Eden is not in the happy ending heās always desired, then James doesnāt want it.
š for Jamesā first impression of Eden.
āWhat a dick.ā James was probably not impressed with Edenās sour attitude after their sorting. To him, being a Gryffindor was and still is something to be endlessly proud of. The fact that the other boy seemed so angry at the new colors on his robe only pissed him off. Wearing red and gold was a privilege after all. Edenās sharp words did nothing to improve his opinion. Needless to say, as the years went by, his feelings changed drastically.
ā for something James will never tell Eden.
James will probably never tell Eden that he stole a pair of socks from him. To be fair, he was running late to McGonagallās class and he had already received two warnings. There simply was no time to search inside his trunk for socks; it was usually so messy and disorganized that it took almost ten minutes every time he tried to find something. However, there was a pair of black socks innocently lying on his friendās bed. Without hesitation, he put them on and promptly run out of the room (completely forgetting about his shoes). For some reason, James has never returned them to Eden and the other is apparently none the wiser. As this happened years ago, he is too embarrassed to confess. (He can always tell what pair is Edenās, even if most of his socks are also black.)
