Another little moment I’ve always loved in the LOTR films is when Aragorn and Boromir first meet, because it’s just so funny to me.

Boromir’s like “Hello! What’s your name?”

Aragorn, not wanting to reveal his true identity as the King of Gondor, dodges the question by Vaguely and Mysteriously(tm) replying: “I am a friend to Gandalf the Grey.”

And Boromir just flatly responds “okay whatever Mr. Friend”

Things that will never not be funny: pre-60′s literary critics bending over backward trying not to say any dirty words and instead saying things like “that firmly established Standard English word which, a vulgarism, is omitted by the O.E.D.”

(The word is “cunt.” It’s in the O.E.D. now, so don’t worry.)

(Side note, other things that will never not be funny: old-school scholars tearing other old-school scholars new ones for not being ballsy enough to put “cunt” or “fuck” into their dictionaries.)

what do u think of pidge/allura as a ship

the age difference holds me off from shipping them romantically (at least until pidge gets older; allura is more in the “ageless celestial being” category anyway), but i absolutely want them to have a big sis/little sis dynamic stemming from allura being desperate to be a mature feminine role model on a more personal level than her princess duties

(pidge thinks it’s ridiculous but goes along with it to keep the space princess happy; all the paladins have room and board in an amazing alien castle AND really cool mecha lions so it’s the least she can do to let allura try to give sage sisterly advice once in a while)
