Vexen wasn’t entirely certain what had prompted it, if anything at all. Perhaps the younger Nobody had been on a particularly tiring mission (highly unlikely - the boy rarely did hard word) or had gotten a poor night’s sleep, but either way, Demyx had found his way down into the lab and had been watching Vexen work for almost a few hours now. The boy’s eyelids looked heavier and heavier each time Vexen spared a glance in his direction, but he seemed to diligently fight sleep to the best of his ability.

Finally, Vexen had managed to get himself to a stopping point, where he would call Demyx over to sit next to him at the table and explain the conclusion of his experiment. The ninth had sauntered over and plopped himself down in the chair next to Vexen, and the elder was only speaking for what felt like a minute or two when suddenly an unexpected weight laid against his shoulder.

He nearly startled, but kept himself composed as he snapped his gaze down to his shoulder. Surprisingly enough, a mop of carefully styled blond hair met with Vexen’s cheek as he turned, and that was all he needed to conclude that Demyx had fallen asleep on him.

“Honestly, IX, I am not surprised.” 

However, instead of jolting the boy awake or yelling at him to get up, Vexen continued to clean up the rest of the experiment (or what he could of it, with his limited mobility) and went on to then scratch down the results in his notebook. Demyx got into enough trouble as it was, he supposed the boy could use a brief respite.
