Completely in love with your take on Ever after High!! So well written!! I do have a question though, do Briar and Faybelle make up? Like patch up their fractured friendship/relationship? Do they ever see things from the other's perspective? Does Briar lowkey resent Faybelle for wanting to follow their destiny because out of the two of them Briar gets the short end of the stick? Does she feel like Faybelle is lowkey rubbing the whole "Sleeping for a 100 years" thing in her face, and that's why she doesn't like interacting with her? I gotta know!!
I'm glad you're liking it so far! As well ty for asking! I do think a lot more about characters and their relationships with one another but kind of find there's not much time or room to fit much of it into the videos without bloating the time 😅
I believe the two would eventually makeup! Probably through some long convoluted magic setting forcing them to confront one another if they want a chance at escape, and while most likely devolving into a bit of a cat fight, it's after letting out their anger and resentment at fate and against each other Briar finally apologises for everything she did, as well as NOT do to be there, while all Faybelle can do is cry and whimper out her apologies that aren't entirely needed. The two haven't been real friends for years, but together they want to try again and not let fate or family stop them this time, and with that they're freed from whatever realm they were trapped in with Faybelle finally being welcomed as a Rebel.
A little soppy and generic, but this story is a fantasy drama so why can't we have a small quiet moment of reconciliation between 2 characters?
For both the girls I intended for their relationship to be tragically co-dependent between one another which is why they're still together by highschool, even though a friendship like that would of fallen out years ago. Briar felt she had no control over her destiny and future, in turn leading to her taking control of her interactions and friendship with Faybelle just to have some sense of power, especially against the person who supposedly "loves" her but will still end up cursing her to slumber. On the other hand Faybelle felt abandoned and isolated by those around her, fearing others would just use her she clung to the only relationship she felt she knew, one she was willing to wait and care for by her bedside for 100 years just see her wake again despite Briar probably not feeling the same.
I do agree that Briar's destiny does often get ignored or downplayed to strange degree, especially by Faybelle who rather than find a solution seems to already have prepared to act as her carer, but I instead wanted to play that into her character. No one takes the 100yr slumber very seriously since it's not death or anything, so knowing there's no escape and no one seems interested in helping, Briar "accepts" this destiny and parties to enjoy the lavishes of life while she can, leading to some not so perfect social skills or relationships, but what can you expect from someone backed into a corner, just like Faybelle she'll play the defensive too but this time be a lot more cut throat and honest.
They're just two girls that both had futures tainted by "fate" and a family deal neither agreed to, so rather then let family resentment and trauma ruin them they find power in themselves to overcome it and break the cycle.
Hope that answers some questions, and also isn't too much of an info dump 😭 They're just 2 characters I find really endearing and love to think a lot about, and I'd love to hear any thoughts or extra questions you might have as well!
