India Mango Season 2026: Crop Forecast, Pricing Trends & Export Outlook
India is the world’s leading producer of mangoes, providing fresh fruit and processed mango products for both local and international markets. With the 2026 mango season approaching, growers, exporters, processors, and food manufacturers are closely watching crop conditions in major mango-producing areas. The initial forecast for India's mango industry suggests stable production, increasing export opportunities, and steady global demand for top-quality mango varieties.
Overview of India's Mango Season 2026
Major mango-growing states such as Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu have reported good flowering conditions in the early stages of crop development. Weather remained stable during the flowering period, helping healthy orchard growth. However, fruit-setting levels have varied by region, which may affect overall production volumes this season. Experts predict the 2026 mango season will be strong, despite regional differences in yield and harvest timing.
Key Mango Producing Regions in India
India's mango industry is supported by diverse growing regions that contribute significantly to domestic consumption and export markets.
Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh remains one of the largest mango-producing states, known for varieties such as Totapuri, Banganapalli, and Suvarnarekha. The state plays a crucial role in supplying mangoes for both fresh consumption and food processing industries.
Karnataka
Karnataka is an important producer of Totapuri and Alphonso mangoes. The region continues to support export-oriented mango businesses through consistent production and quality fruit supply.
Maharashtra
Home to the famous Alphonso mango, Maharashtra remains a key contributor to India's premium mango market. Alphonso mangoes continue to enjoy strong demand in both domestic and international markets.
Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh
These regions contribute significantly to India's overall mango production and support growing export demand across global markets.
Popular Mango Varieties Driving Market Demand
India produces hundreds of mango varieties, but a few dominate commercial trade and export activities.
Alphonso Mango
Known for its rich aroma, vibrant color, and exceptional taste, Alphonso remains one of India's most sought-after mango varieties. It is widely preferred by consumers and food manufacturers seeking premium quality mango ingredients.
Totapuri Mango
Totapuri is valued for its high yield, firm texture, and versatility. It is widely used by food processing industries and contributes significantly to India's mango exports.
Kesar Mango
Kesar mangoes are popular for their sweetness and attractive color. The variety continues to gain recognition in international markets.
Mango Price Outlook for 2026
Several factors are expected to influence mango prices during the 2026 season:
Crop availability
Weather conditions
Transportation costs
Export demand
Domestic consumption trends
Supply chain efficiency
Strong demand from domestic and international buyers may keep prices stable across major mango varieties throughout the season.
Global Demand for Indian Mangoes
Indian mangoes continue to enjoy growing popularity across international markets. Countries in the Middle East, Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia are increasing imports due to the fruit's unique flavor and premium quality.
The growing preference for natural fruit ingredients, tropical flavors, and authentic fruit-based products is creating new opportunities for Indian mango exporters.
Export Opportunities in 2026
India's mango export sector is expected to benefit from:
Expanding global demand
Improved cold chain infrastructure
Better logistics support
Increased awareness of Indian mango varieties
Rising consumption of fruit-based products
The Growing Importance of Value-Added Mango Products
In addition to fresh fruit exports, processed mango products are gaining traction worldwide. Food and beverage manufacturers are increasingly using processed mango ingredients to make juices, dairy products, desserts, bakery fillings, and confectionery items. As demand for mango-based products rises, manufacturers are looking for dependable sources of high-quality mango ingredients that provide consistent quality and authentic taste.

As the season unfolds, industry stakeholders will closely monitor crop development, market demand, and export performance to optimize opportunities in the growing global mango market.
Alphonso And The Mango Fart Experience
The Alphonso mango was also called Hapus in India. He now knew this because he had decided to take a few minutes of his day to read about it. He also now knew that it originated from the western regions of India, particularly the Konkan coast in Maharashtra, Goa, and parts of Karnataka and Gujarat. What he hadn't realised was that getting his hands on some of its bottled juices from a Marks & Spencer fridge unit in the Maryfield Ward of Dundee would lead him through more dangerous Christian territory that the Islamists had had descend upon them from the Indian Ocean. He did of course pay for the items with cash and a thank you and had no thought for raiding or mutilating the area or its local inhabitants. This was a good sign, he deduced. Even although these precise local attacks had poisoned and tortured his life whilst shopping for the mango experience he felt no resentment or need to remind people that they were not at sea... or war.... and were not conflicted with the control of spice trade routes. He had decided to simply not raise a voice in dispute and rathered to aid in the permission of safe passage for those now leaving the area with wounds that not even the Caesar of The East could have imagined of inflicting. Perhaps he was turning a corner and peace was actually an internal choice. Perhaps next time, he creatively thought, the location would be less harried and those purchasing items from the shop could leave the location less frazzled. It was then that he remembered with fondness that not having your kidneys burst was always an extremely favourable reason for visiting a communal shopping place, especially the higher left one. He didn't want to go on about the lower intestine. The thought of it was beginning to agitate and this made him worry too much. He had decided he had no need for worry, he was a fart. In a fructose intolerant kind of way of course.
Afonso de Albuquerque, 1st Duke of Goa (the man who single handedly paved the way for bringing us the mango fart experience)
