Alphonse woke up early one morning several days after their wedding. Today was a big day, he and Fletcher would be adopting their children. This was another major milestone in their relationship. It was one of few left that had to be completed.

He went down stairs and whipped up a quick breakfast. They had two rooms in their house here in Resombool, which doubled as their herbal store. It brought in quite the income. Herbs where needed for just about everything here. Even celebrations.

Soon enough he heard the sound of Fletcher coming down the stairs. This was perfect timing on his part. Fletcher knew how much today meant. They where going to meet the two kids they had been told about.

"Good morning my prince." Alphonse says from the kitchen as he puts the finishing touches on the plates and finishes the dishes. He was making sure everything was in order for their children to arrive the today.

"Good morning my knight in shining armor." Fletcher sat down at the table. "Breakfast smells delicious! Thanks for making it, I kind of forgot we need it because I was so excited for today!" He laughs rubbing behind his head.

"That's why I'm the one who raises early. I make sure you eat breakfast. You're more forgetful on that than my brother Edward! Seriously, you need to take better care of yourself!" He jokes before coming out with breakfast. "I'm excited too to be honest. I almost forgot to make it."

"Well I'm glad you didn't Alphonse!" Fletcher hugs him real quick before beginning to eat. He had to be sure that they where good and full too meet the kids the agent had called, the twin terrors. One boy and one girl, that sounded simple enough.

"Yeah I am too!" Alphonse was pretty quick with eating his food. He took both his and Fletcher's plates and washed them when they where done. Now both men got ready in some nice clothes and shoes.

"Come on. They'll be waiting for us at the station." Fletcher tells Alphonse grabbing him and dragging him behind him. He smiled as they quickly approached the station.

"Wow Fletcher slow down!" Alphonse laughed.  "I'm sure they're just as excited to meet us."

Once they where in the station, they saw the agent, and the two children they had been told where the terrible twins. Also known as the twin terrors. A red headed boy, and a red headed girl.

"Hello there," the agent began. "I'm not sure why wanted them, but here they are, the twin terrors." She then hurries off before they can change their mind.

Fletcher's hand shook as he began to button up his tuxedo. He had been so happy when Alphonse proposed to him several months ago. He just didn't know what to do now. They had to say their vows and everything today. It was the most nerve racking experience of his life. He just was nervous was all.

He sensed a presence behind him. He turned knowing it wasn't Al, they weren't allowed to see each other in tuxedos until they met at the alter. He saw Russel. A small smile broke across his face. Of course it was his older brother, the one who would escorting him down the ramp to Alphonse.

"You need to calm down a little Fletcher. This is nothing to stress over." Russel says as he begins to help Fletcher fix his tuxedo. "Al is probably nervous too, I just don't think Ed will let him be." Russel states as he adjusts Fletcher's tie. 

Fletcher knows this. "I know, but I can't help it. It's finally our big day. I just want everything to be perfect. I'm so nervous about it for that reason." He tried to explain.

"It's perfectly natural to be nervous Fletcher, just know that. I'm here, and you can do it, I believe in you. Don't be afraid." Russel hugs Fletcher real tight.

Fletcher closes his eyes. "Thanks Russel. Now isn't the time for me to be getting cold feet." He felt Russel's hand ruffle his hair and smiled up at him.

"Come on Fletcher, we don't want to be keeping Alphonse waiting now do we?" Russel asks breaking the hug and setting up his arm ready to escort his little brother down the ramp.

Fletcher linked his arm with Russel's. "Your right there, it wouldn't be right to keep my future husband waiting on me to come down so we could get married."

~Meanwhile~

Alphonse stood at the alter. His mind raced with thoughts of future happiness. He still had some beads of sweat going down his face. He was nervous for their big day.

"Al calm down." Winry's voice came from in front of him causing him to turn. The instant he did Winry started to fix his tuxedo. "Gosh you'd think that maybe you'd make sure your tuxedo was perfect or something like that, after all this is your wedding we're talking about. Yeesh boy." She adjusted his tux and bow tie.

"Thanks Winry. I guess I'm just nervous over today. It is my big day with Fletcher and all." He chuckles a little. It was a big day, and he wanted it all to be just perfect. He could see teacher and her husband there. Winry was there, he saw Mustang and his entire team were there. This made him incredibly happy.

"Yes I understand, but I need you to calm down. It won't help anyone if you mess up on your vows. You cand do this Al." Winry gave him a reassuring smile.

"You really think so? I'll do my best." Al closed his eyes and then reopened them to look at his best man, his brother Edward Elric. This was the most exciting day of his life.

Ed flashed him a smile. "Winry's right ya know. There's no need to stress over this. You'll do fine."

Alphonse gave a curdious nod. "You're right brother, Winry is right." Al looks to her with a smile.

Winry smirks. "I'm always right, now if you'll excuse me, I must sit down for the ceremony to begin." Winry then took her seat.

Shortly afterwards the organ starts playing. Then the door opens to reveal Fletcher arm and arm with Russel as he is escorted down the ramp. There is smile on his face the entire time.

Soon enough Fletcher is handed to Al and they link arms and turn to face the priest. This was gong to be over pretty quick.

"Dearly beloved," The priest began. "We are gathered here today too witness the eternal bonding of two fine young people through the way of marriage, where they shall pledge eternal love for each other."

During this Alphonse whispers to Fletcher. "You look flat out amazing."

Fletcher turns red. "Thank you, you look amazing too."

"We will now here the two love birds make their vows." The priest says cuing Alphonse and Fletcher to turn and take each other's hands. Now came the hard part.

"Fletcher," Alphonse began. "I do hereby pledge to never hurt you, leave you behind, or take advantage of you as long as I live."

Fletcher was touched to the point of tears when Alphonse said that. "Alphonse, I hereby vow to never hate you, leave you behind, cheat on you, or make you cry anything other than tears of joy as long as I live."

"Does the ring bearer have the rings?" The priest asked cuing Ed to pass the rings to Alphonse. Afterwards Alphonse and Fletcher slipped a ring on the other;s hand.

"I now pronounce you as husband and husband, you may now kiss the groom!"

Alphonse was putting the finishing touches on his tuxedo. It was the biggest day of his and Fletcher's relationship. It was the day Alphonse had planned on to ask Fletcher to marry him. It made Alphonse very nervous. He couldn't get his palms to stop sweating. He sat on the train imagining how this was going to play out. They had reservations at a fancy restaurant in central.

He got off the train and came face to face with a nicely dressed Fletcher. He had been out here for a week visiting Russel. It was something that Fletcher had felt the need to do, not having seen his brother in a year and all. However, tonight was all about him and Alphonse.

"You look stunning tonight Fletcher." Alphonse says when he finally catches his breath again. The feeling was even better than we he and Fletcher first shared a kiss. This was important to the way things worked.

"Thanks Al. You look very handsome tonight." His boyfriend chuckles and kisses him in reply. This caused Al to blush as they embraced still and kept a loving eye contact.

"Well we should get going." Alphonse takes Fletcher by the hand nd starts to lead him through the streets of central to his brother's favorite restaurant in the world. It made everything even better than normal. He had reserved these seats months ago. It was all part of his big plan.

He soon walked into the restaurant followed by Fletcher. The waiter took them to their table quickly. Al pulled out Fletcher's chair for him and when Fletcher sat down and thanked him Al pushed him in and took his own seat. They both place their orders and waited for things to come. The appetizer came first.

"So how is this so far Fletcher?" Al felt hi anxiousness getting high. He didn't want Fletcher to not enjoy this very big day that they had planned out.

"I love it so far, thank you for bringing me! This appetizer is great!" Fletcher had been devouring the cheese sticks they brought out. It was too perfect for him. Fletcher wondered why Al had brought him here today.

The main course came next. They had ordered the spaghetti to share. They didn't realize it at the time, but they got the same length noodle. They wound up kissing Lady and the Tramp style. 

They both blushed and broke the kiss. Luckily they where in a private both. They held hands until dessert was brought out. It was very important to them now. Before they could eat Alphonse spoke up.

"Fletcher, there's been something I've wanted to ask you for awhile now. I think now is the perfect time for it." Al tries running his hand through his own hair trying to look cool.

"What is it Alphonse?" Fletcher looked confused. Normally Al didn't have much to ask. It was rare he asked a question.

Al got down on one knee and pulled out a small box causing Fletcher to gasp. Was Al going to do what he thought he was going to do.

Al opened the top of the box to reveal a ring. "Fletcher, will you marry me?" Al's eyes shone up at his boy friend.

Alphonse stood there on the platform in Central's train station. His hand was locked with Fletcher's. It was finally over, the war in the south was over. Edward and Russel where coming home. It had been another year now. Three years Ed had been away, and one year for Russel. It had been a year of anxiety for both Fletcher and Al though. For awhile it seemed like the war was only getting more violent and that many state alchemists had died. This was true, but Ed and Russel had survived. For that Fletcher and Alphonse where thankful.

"What if they're mad?" Alphonse asked Fletcher and tightened his grip. He was afraid of loosing Ed because of his sexuality. He'd almost lost him during the war, he couldn't loose him now.

Fletcher pecked Al's cheek and squeezed his hand. "It's ok Al. They won't be, I promise! Edward loves you, and Russel loves me. They always will, no matter what, Ed even got your body back! If that's not love I don't know what is." Fletcher was more optimistic than Al was, but he had to be, for Al's sake.

"You're right, I'm probably worried over nothing." Alphonse laughed a little awkwardly. He stood really close to Fletcher trying to keep his nerves calmed. He placed his head on Fletcher's shoulder. Now they just had to wait for the train.

Alphonse saw it first.  "There it is! The train is here!" He pulled Fletcher closer to the area the train parked. They both broke off and hugged their respective brother. After a tearful reunion Al and Fletcher intentionally lead them to the same restaurant.

After meeting up again they insisted on having the same table for all four of them. They sat there smiling while their brothers tried to figure out where the loves of their little brothers lives where.

"I can't believe they haven't figured it out yet." Alphonse chuckled. He enjoyed watching the bewildered look on Edward's face. He obviously didn't get it.

Fletcher laughed. "Russel you have such a stupid look on your face." This was to entertaining for them. Just why where they looking so shocked? Was it not obvious? Guess not.

A look of realization came across Ed's face. "Oh I get it. Well good for you two." He looked over to Russel, who still seemed dumbfounded.

Alphonse was incredibly nervouse. He waved goodbye as Winry and Gran headed out to Rush Valley. After that he ran home and started to prepare things. It was a big night for him.

First he set the table. He placed a nice candle set in the middle of the table. He folded the napkins and placed the silverware out. He had picked a very fancy looking table cloth. He then hurried into the kitchen.

He had already prepared their dessert of cookies. Now he had the oven preheated to cook the meatloaf he had made. After that was in the oven he started on the mashed potatoes. He made those quickly and then made the carrots. He prepared some apple cider for their drinks that night. He made some rolls the day earlier. He also made some gravy. He chuckled as he finished washing the last of the pots. The meatloaf came out next. He now made the plates and set them at the table. He also washed the pan that he used to cook the meat loaf.

He made the plates and set them on the table. He then poured the apple cider and set the drinks on the table. This was the perfect set up. He loved it in every way. He just hoped Fletcher would as well. This had to be a good first date.

Alphonse now went upstairs. He changed into some nice clothes. Nothing to formal, but it still gave a good first impression. He wanted Fletcher to know he was serious about their relationship.

He went down stairs to the living room after that. Fletcher was due anytime now. This had taken all day to prepare for, so Al hoped it was the best date Fletcher will have experienced.

His ears prick up when he hears barkinf followed by laughing outside. He gets up and makes a dash for the door. He's pretty sure he knows who this was. It wasn't Edward, he was still off on assignment.

He opened the door and there enough was Fletcher sitting and hugging Den while she licked him.

"Den stop that! Hahahahahaha! It tickles! Hahahahahaha! I'm glad to see you too girl! Hahahahaha! Alphonse help!" He manages between fits of laughter and Al gets Den off him.

"Sorry about that Fletcher, she was just excited to see you." Al gives Fletcher a small smile before leading him inside.

"No problem Al. It's nice to see her too. Though it's nicer to see you." Fletcher tells him looking into his eyes.

Al felt himself blush now. They hadn't told anyone else about this yet. Not even Ed or Russel knew they where going to date. It was their little secret.

"I hope this isn't too much." Al says with an embaraced look on his face as Fletcher looks around himself. This was a little over the top now that Al thought about it.

"No Al, this is perfect!" Fletcher hugged him. "It's dinner, just for us! Thank you!" Fletcher took Al's hand as they walked into the dining room. This was just too much to handle.

Al let go of his hand and went over and pulled out a chair for Fletcher. "Here you go Fletcher! It's your place to sit!" He smiles warmly as his boyfriend walks over.

Fletcher took his seat blushing. "Thank you Alphonse." He says as Al pushes him in some.

"No problem Fletcher." Al sat across from Fletcher at his plate smiling now. They started dinner soon after.

"You made this all by hand? It's excellent!" Fletcher explains as he pauses for a moment.

This caused Al to blush. "Thanks Fletcher! Idid my best to make this a good dinner for you. After all you deserve the very best." Al gave him a whole hearted smile.

Soon enough they finished all the food and cleared the table and did dishes. After that they took to cuddling on the couch.

Fletcher snuzzled closer to Alphonse as they just listened to the pattern of the light drizzle now falling down outside. Alphonse kissed Fletcher;s cheek every once in awhile. He loved the way it made Fletcher's face look like a grinning strawberry.

After awhile Fletcher rolled over to face Al. "Can we go up to your bed now? I'm kind of tired and it sound very nice to snuggle in a bed!"

Al blushed but nodded. "Of course! Come on!" He picks Fletcher up bridal style and walks up stairs. He lays down the bed and wraps his arms around Fletcher's torso.

They layed in silence for a little bit after that. The rain was comforting now. It made them both feel sort of sleepy. Al blinked realizing as Fletcher rolled over.

Fletcher pressed his lips to Alphonse's. "Good night my night in shinning armor." He whispers before his eyes close and he drifts to sleep.

Fletcher sat on the train nervously. He was wringing his hands. He'd been out to Resombool several times now. He had reaquated himself with Alphonse and they had become good friends over the past few months. However, now more than ever he had his thoughts to hopes for the future of him and Al. Today he planned to finally tell Alphonse how he felt about him. It had taken enough poking and prodding from Russel to come to this decision. 

He had talked to Russel about it the previous night. His big brother had been pretty supportive. He just hoped that Al would understand. He was told that he had to tell him, so at least he'd know for sure. He had a long road ahead of him, but he'd do it.. Maybe Alphonse would feel the same. Fletcher sure hoped he did.

When the train stopped Fletcher was off in seconds. He ran along the dirt road along  path he had grown to recognize over the past few months. After all, he had received the directions the first time he came here. He did come here often to spend time with Al. Though normally Russel came with him to talk to Ed.

This time was different though. Ed was away on an assignment, and Russel was preparing for the state alchemist test he had to take. So it would just be Fletcher and Al this time around. Which would make it easier to confess his feelings for Al.

When he got to the auto mail shop he saw a framiliar young boy playing with a dog. He smiled realizing Alphonse was playing with Den. As he got closer he heard Alphonse laughing.

"Den quit it! That tickles!" Alphonse laughed and pushed Den away from him. He looked over and smiled when he saw Fletcher. He hadn't been expecting to see his friend today.

"Hi Fketcher!" Al said as he saw Den run at Fletcher who was shaking his hands trrying to get her to halt before trying to back up and fall on his rear. "Don't worry Fletcher she's just saying hello." Al laughed as his friend nervously petted Den.

"Easy for you to say! You've been around her your whole life!" Fletcher said timidly as Den's muzzle came closer to him. "I don't even know if she likes me." He closes an eye and starts laughing when Den starts licking him.

Alphonse laughed at the shocked look in Fletcher's other eye. "I think she likes you just fine!" He teases. "Otherwise she'd probably be biting your butt right now!"

Fletcher was still laughing but now trying to escape. "Hahahahahaha! Ok I get! Hahaha! I like you too girl! Hahaha! Stop it! Hahahaha! That tickles! hahahaha! Alphonse help!" He squirms trying to escape her.

Al hurried over and got Den off Fletcher and helped him up. "Good girl Den." Alphonse praises as he pets her afterwards. "You just showed Fletcher that his fears are nothing to be afraid of around you.

Fletcher nodded in agreement before petting Den and then looking at Al. "Hey Alphonse can we go for a walk?" He had hoped to get some private time  with his crush.

"Oh of course. Let's ok." Alphonse led Fletcher away while Den went off to lay down somewhere. He had seen a nice tree to rest under ontop of a hill. It would be a bit of a nice shady place to hang out in this hot summer heat. He turned to Fletcher when they got under. "You don't mind if we stop here to talk do you?"

Fletcher blushed and shook his head. "No not at all. It's a nice place to talk really. I heard Ed was out on assignment. I'm sorry he can't be with you right now." Fletcher said as he rubbed Al's back.

Al smiled at Fletcher sort of sadly.  "It's ok Fletcher. The military needs him for the war at our southern border. But he'll be home as soon as it's over, he promised. What about you and Russel? Why isn't he here?"

Fletcher gave off a sad smile now. "Oh he hasn't had a lot of time lately. He's been busy studying for the state alchemist exam. He knows he can pass this time. I know so too!"

Alphonse looked excited for his friend. "He's going to be a state alchemist? That's great! I'm so happy for you guys!" He then grabbed Fletcher up into a hug.

Fletcher blushed but returned the hug. "Thanks Al. I came here so I could spend time with you! You're my best friend." Fletcher bravely declares.

Al looked into Fletcher's eyes. "You're my best friend too Fletcher! We'll be there for each other even when our brothers can't be!" Al tells him kind of rocking him at the same time.

"Hey Alphonse..." Fletcher begins. "I have something to ask you." Now it was his time.  He had to tell Alphonse how he really felt. He couldn't hold that off any longer.

"What is it Fletcher?" Al was a little worried now. Was something wrong with where Fletcher and Russel loved? Did Fletcher have to ask if they could stay here in Resombool with the Rockbells for awhile?

"I can't stop thinking about you." Fletcher says looking up into Al's big eyes. "I keep wanting to tell you this. I'm always to scared though,. However, know I am confident that you'll understand. I wanna be by your side for ever, Al, I love you. Do you feel the same for me?"

Al's face turned bright red. Fletche returned his feelings? He had been content just to be Fletcher's friend and watch him eventually wait for a girl to walk down the isle to him, and sacrifice his own happiness, and Fletcher loved him back? This was amazing!

Fletcher had looked back down after the question. He didn't hear Al respond after a few minutes. "You don't do you?" Fletcher felt the tears coming to his eyes. He wasn't going to get to have Al, his best friend in the whole world. He felt sort of empty inside.

That's when Al did something unexpected. He tilted Fletcher's head up and kissed him on the lips before smiling. "Fletcher, I love you too. I just didn't think you felt the same way about me."
