sadly most of my drawings of them are silly doodles. but all u need to know is revati is the mc + a depressed scientist and she is caught in a yuri debacle between celeste and merlin. and yes i havent drawn her and merlin kissing IM SORRY! but their relationship is less physical also. celeste is a high ranking commander (i didnt really decide what she gets up to) of the spaceship which has a heliocentric religion/culture so they have some cute sun imagery + lots of circles + spikes for the sun :)) . merlin is the child of some rich ppl and is more rebellious against the general culture but more in an i hate what my parents like way than an i actually care about the issues that are going on here.

revati is kinda caught between her comfort in the govt (cosy well paying position + stability for her grandchildren who she is the only guardian of) and facing what is really going on (which she finds out about after one of her granddaughters ends up missing and is basically slavery on the third planet she does science on that people generally think nobody is on in the solar system). Her conflicting feelings are explored through her attraction towards celeste and merlin as well.

basically revati is depressed+suicidal because she is in her early 60s ish and she feels like everything she has done has been for nothing and is stuck working constantly. her son and daughter in law both died while they were quite young. she really cares about her granddaughters and wants them to turn out well and thrive but she is so busy working she can barely see them and just has to hope her nanny (PANA BTW!!! but she is faceless in this) is taking care of them but wishes she was in their lives so badly. She feels like they are the only thing left she has aside from her scientific research that she can put effort into to have had a meaningful life. Celeste is alluring to her because to revati she is proof/reinforces that everything IS worth it and she has been dedicating herself to smth good. Merlin is alluring because they are someone who is young and having fun and rebelling against society (in their way lol), and revati knows in her heart SOMETHING is going on w the govt so. But she also has beef with the two of them, merlin for being fake about their politics basically and celeste for acting too much like everything is good and fine and treating revati too special.

anyways my ramble is over i think they have some interesting dynamics to get into but once again,. that means i have to do a project. and well. im tired
