“I know that I have seen this community in it’s worst and best times. I have watched wonderful people receive cruel and downright illegal messages to break their hearts. I know that this may not be much, but this is me putting my foot down. All I can do is hope that this keeps at least one person from sending a message that could end someone’s life.

I saw this put into action in the RPCHA Community thanks to rpcgron, and I want to do something similar for us.

This is the Roleplay Anti-Hate Pledge. By adding this pledge to your blog, you agree to swear to the following things.

I pledge to:

Understand that I have the right to post my opinion on my blog, but to also know that people have the right to disagree with me.

To know that someone having a different opinion than you is not an attack.

To also understand that the way you say things may come out as rude or hurtful, and accept that sometimes you might hurt someone’s feelings without meaning to.

To never publish any message from someone while you are fighting. Work out your disagreements privately instead of only providing one side of a story.

To try my best to avoid using racial slurs, sexist jokes, or any sort of cruel comment about someone’s sexuality, gender, heritage or opinion.

To try my best to use trigger warnings and never make fun of someone’s trigger.

To never ever send anonymous hate to anyone.”
