Do they have unusual speech patterns?
The first is just how much he can vary in them, with mood, with situation, so on. Most often it's how, over time one might notice the air of performance to him. That he can come off a bit too thought out controlled the ways he can be completely aware of everything about himself to the smallest motion or where he chooses to inflect.
Though most people don't notice and aren't given enough time to really take in the slight theatrical quality and unease with it.
So when he's got to actually be a person, the default is often blunt, flat, matter of fact and quick. Will often pronounce words with a variety of regional accents, often making a point of not changing them in his day-to-day out of pure preference.
If it's something he cares about, in any direction just a strong investment of some kind it will bleed in the longer he talks. Ilztaun can very much feel things to an intensity where it might as well be the whole of him in that moment, and it needs to be understood, heard. At least known...
Back to that performance quality, often speaking with more of a rhythm to his speech, the natural musical quality to his voice at the forefront...
Do they need their hands occupied a lot? If so, what do they do?
Almost constantly if he can help it, something that never quite changed, because it helps him think so as a child he could be forced to stop playing with his hair (which would often tangle it horribly when combined with hating the feeling of brushing it.)
Picking up things, most often interesting seeming plants or rocks and playing with them in his pocket, twisting one of the extra ribbons around his wrist (he mostly keeps it on hand for practical reasons, but most often...) Many such little things.
Also while it's not why he learned to sew, embroider, do beadwork, he took to them as well as he did because having that task to do makes it easier to sit still for long periods.
...But most often if he has either a harp (he has a number, lyres mainly being for when he wants something that he won't mind being beat up as much and can handle being thrown around a good bit) or violin mainly, well most instruments really, he tends to end up playing them without thinking. This also can include grabbing someone else's arm to simulate a violin neck.
but long story short, he is so very rarely able to be still.
(...or conversely completely still for hours.)
What's their favorite food/least favorite food?
So as much as I've really started to shift to answering Ilz questions firmly in present, he doesn't tend to eat food much. Nor could he taste it anyway. What he can do is convince others to eat something for him and enjoy it second hand through them...
So when giving a real answer, strawberries.
Berries just in general as well as a good number of fruits but they are above the other.
Least favourite...I feel like most surface breads just as an overall class. More nut/grain heavy ones are better at least.
and also does tend to be fond of sweets and cakes so there's a point where he likes them again.
He has issues with a lot of surface foods, many of which probably are just literal allergies and intolerances being pushed into the 'just don't like them.' category.
He's both picky about food while undoubtably eating the most heinous fucked up underdark foods...The fondness for sweets literally came out of showing off a willingness to eat at least one type of unusual and exotic surface food.
Are they used to sleeping around others or alone?
Well they avoid sleeping as much as possible to start with. With others if trance can be avoided it should be as much as possible since he struggles to shake the idea of being uneasy about being so defenseless for hours around others and can break it into shorter 30 minute or so bursts.
(And tends to keep a knife resting on or near one of his hands and another out of view, and refills the poison vials as soon as possible in case they are attacked and need them freshly coated with little warning.)
Even just relaxing while conscious is something that similar to talking openly, incessantly, loudly, is something that is purely reserved for when he's with someone he can completely trust.
Also probably has to be argued into accepting he needs rest first a few times as well.
