THAT VAST, MYSTICAL LAND NAMED INDIA.
India gets her name from the Indus Valley Civilisation, one of the earliest civilisations of the world that existed approximately between 3300 BCE and 1300 BCE. The land is mystical in every sense of the term. The land of Shiva, the land of Buddha, the land of Guru Nanak... many religions have their origins in India. Jesus is said to have stayed in the Kashmir region of India in the Himalayas for a while. And many of us know Mount Kailash in the Himalayas is Lord Shiva’s abode. It’s more a land of awakening, philosophy, spirituality and mysticism than religious dogmas. It’s a land where Hindu Temples, Muslim Mosques, Christian Churches, Sikh Gurudwaras, Jain Temples have peacefully co-existed for thousands of years. The vastness and variety in her cultures, religions, people, places, food, cinema, art, literature is beyond imagination. Yes, people of India are human beings too. And many a times human beings fall prey to false belief systems, patriarchal control, narrow mindedness and such human fallacies. But India has survived it all and stands tall in her freedom and beauty like a true warrior goddess.
Today I wish to share a mini photographic tour of some of her beauty and vastness with you friends.
Lets begin with the breathtaking beauty of the sunlit, golden, divine KANCHENJUNGHA MOUNTAIN PEAKS In the HIMALAYAS in her East. Spirituality begins and probably ends in the Himalayas. In one word, it takes your breath away!

Kangchenjunga, on the Indo-Nepal border, also spelled Kanchenjunga, is the third highest mountain in the world. It rises with an elevation of 8,586 m in a section of the Himalayas called Kangchenjunga Himal delimited in the west by the Tamur River, in the north by the Lhonak Chu and Jongsang La, and in the east by the Teesta River. Kanchenjunga has five peaks and so the name translates to 'Five Treasures of Snow'.(Courtesy : Wikipedia)
