Here is a little apricot poodle named Daisy! I was excited to make a pup loosely based on Harriet's design in AC. :) This cutie belongs to @allisquish !
I find myself curious about Ai Higurashi! I'm assuming an Inuyasha au?
It is! Itâs a little vignette told from Kagomeâs momâs perspective, in the subsequent years after Kagome leaves for the feudal era forever. It has a bit of a time loop in it (I LOVE time loops) and her mother has always interested me. Â
Hi! I have a kinda random cooking question- I'm allergic to cinnamon, but do you know if there are any spices I could try in cooking or baking as alternatives?
It depends a little on the dish and what flavors youâre trying to compliment, but cinnamon is a sweet/spicy/earthy flavor and you can use:
nutmeg (earthy and sweet)
ginger (sweet and spicy)
cardamon (earthy and sweet, I adore for baking)
mace (earthy)
allspice (earthy and sweet)
Pepper (earthy and spicy, use very little pink is floral, white is strongest)
If you combine a couple together youâll get a more complex flavor.
General rule on spices: if they smell good together they taste good together
If they donât smell at all theyâre past their use
What's the argentine money bag convent scandal?
What Iâm about to tell you is an actual real-life thing that happened last year. So on 2015 we voted for a new president. The mayor gripe against the old president and her party was that they were stealing mayor amounts of cash allocated to infrastructure works. It worked as follows: the President, through the Secretary of Planning and his right-hand man, JosĂ© Lopez, would allocate infrastructure work to a building company that was in on the whole deal. They would inflate the price of construction and pocket the difference (sometimes they would simply not finish the work), and later part of that money would be shared with the President and the others involved (the president laundered that money through her hotels, having this construction businessman reserve rooms at exorbitant prices that no one in their right minds would pay, no one would stay there but the hotel would get the money anyway). To those who did not have such a system in place a lot of the misappropriated funds could not be justified so they were kept at home.
Obviously this new government saw it as a priority to crack down on the corruption charges and to see if some of the money could be recovered. Which left many feeling more than a tad anxious. As people were closing in on the Secretary of Planning and the businessmen involved JosĂ© Lopez, the secretaryâs right-hand man, got a lot nervous, apparently.
Enter Jesus. Not Jesus Jesus, but a guy named Jesus, living in the suburbs in front of a convent. At around 5 AM he notices someone pulling up to the convent, looking for a way in, and then dropping heavy bags over the high fences of the convent before climbing inside himself. There are three nuns living there, all over 80. Jesus thinks, of course, that something very wrong is afoot. He calls the police. Two squad cars arrive, and find former right-hand man of the Secretary of Planning, JosĂ© LĂłpez, attempting to hide bags and bags of money and valuable objects (watches, jewellery, etc) inside the convent. He also brought with him his semi-automatic rifle. I know this wonât mean much to you but in Argentina permits for semi-automatics are rare⊠and there are not carrying permits for those. Not ever.Â
For months and months the former president and her entourage had said, over and over, that there was no corruption. That it was all a ruse perpetuated by the media (our former president had this huge conflict with the media, which meant she never gave press conferences, her âPress Secretaryâ didnât either and she would have a few newspapers and the like in her pocket and use public TV to host news shows that were in her favour, Iâm sure you canât possibly imagine what thatâs like), all âfake newsâ, that there was no proof. And yet there he was, JosĂ© Lopez, guy who our former president was deeply connected to, trying to stash millions of dollars, euros, a fortune in watches and jewellery and the like.
At 5 AM.
In a convent.Â
While illegally armed.
It would later transcend that due to the governmentâs friendship with the priest that ran the convent before he died they had managed to make a secret vault inside the conventâs chapel, which they had justified as a burial pit (which kind of burial pit has security cameras, Iâll ask you). Lopez seemed to be trying to stash the money there.
Because our legal system is still deeply controlled by this disgraced political party nothing has come of it yet and our former president is actually running for senator this year (reason why investment in Argentina has dropped, because of the risk factors associated with her coming back to power and possibly setting the stage for a presidential bid in 2019). But Lopezâs case was so undeniable that people dropped him like a hot potato. âNo corruption ever happenedâ became âSome corruption happened, but it was all this manâs and we had nothing to doâ, which, of course, is nuts.
So yeah, I see your collusion and raise it a religious twist. Oh, and btw, Lopezâs lawyer is also a cumbia singer because, well, of course.

OH.
OH I GET IT.
OH ANON I GET IT AND I AM LAUGHING MY ASS OFF.
I did warn you, I am autistic so it takes me a second, anon.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.
Youâve got me, anon. Letâs just shoot Johnny Depp directly into a black hole. I will help finance the project. Â
I love that his old early 2000âČs nickname just violently threw you both back fifteen years.
Michael Wolff has written a âtell-allâ of sorts about the goings-on in the White House during the first nine months of Trumpâs presidency. The New York Times has a lengthy excerpt and several other news outlets have some pretty interesting quotables. Â
And the word is Trump is FURIOUS about this book. He threatened legal action if itâs published, and the publishers responded by moving the release date to next Friday--which is just, the best fuck you I can think of from a publishing company. Because now the general public has the whole weekend to buy the book and read it. (Book releases are usually on Tuesdays) Â
So basically anything Trump doesnât want me to read, Iâm gonna read twice.
Read the NYTimes excerpt. It is...illuminating.
