the team dynamic was very awesome tbh i loved it. they fight well as a team, have some disagreements but nothing too bad, they banter and help each other out and i love it so much

and i am SO WEAK for when the avengers use each other’s equipment and specifically work off each other. thor and steve did a lot of that this film tbh and like, nat with the shield, god, i’m in love

alSO fuck me those few battle moments where the whole team was together... like the opening sequence was awesome tbh, and when they were guarding the core in the church at the end that slow mo circling shot was sO GREAT

character-wise i was beyond happy to have my faves sam, rhodey and maria. THE SNARK. their scenes were amazing oh god.

(also, new avengers team??? at the end??? let me die this is all i want its ALL I WANT.)

and i think this tied in better to the rest of the universe? like with other characters being more explicitly mentioned and with them being able to have maria, sam, rhodey, fury, peggy, heimdall, selvig, etc it was great.

and yeah i just really love the character dynamics and the party scene especially and the downtime~ scenes and the running gags. oh the gags.

stuff i disliked:

the plot was too convoluted and vague tbh like did we need all that?? ie the stuff with ulysses claw bored me, hulk/hulkbuster fight was a bit too drawn out for my liking, the long fight sequence that ended up with the derailed train. (at this point my mind was a blur of fight sequences)

i would have liked more character-building and just hanging out scenes rather than so much action... especially with SO MANY characters.

it’s still so white and so male. yay for the supporting characters being female/poc/asian and having their own awesome moments but the main 6 avengers, plus the twins, are white. (and yo, whitewashed twins.)

and then, marvel’s treatment of nazism and hydra AGAIN. what the fuck. why the fucK would the twins, romani jews, VOLUNTEER FOR A NAZI ORGANISATION. this is sitwell 2.0

or alternatively, considering wanda nad pietro didn’t really seem jewish then ugh why did they erase their jewish identity????

i got weird vibes from the avengers being all white, all american... going to stop the african pirates or the helpless asians...

the nat/bruce plot. Like, I LOVE HER. and I LOVE ROMANCE. and i am all for a female character wanting to be all about the romance and run away with a man to hide from her demons... but when she’s the main female lead in a movie where the men are ~macho, it makes it seem like women are the emotional, frail ones. yknow? gimme all the different types of female characters, but if the film is predominantly male, then give me the women who get shit done and are awesome.

peggy carter did not time travel to the future to join the avengers ;__;

pepper potts did not appear. uM sorry whaT. tony’s got all this stark tech floating around, Maria is meant to work for pepper/SI, tony creates a fucking supervillain. I’m pretty sure the CEO of Stark Industries should maybe have skyped them or called or somETHING.

now to break it down by character i suppose?? (thank u imdb for reminding me of all the characters)

tony - obviously, always gonna love him. wasn’t as in love with him this time though, and him creating ultron was in line with his character kinda but also not??? and i don’t think they truly got enough time to flesh all of those consequences out (not that we need AOU to become iron man 4 tho) but ugh tony is an anti hero and i wanted him to actually have to face up the fact that he used to design weapons which killed lots of people/civilians. also didn’t like how he was with rhodey in this film. :|  but fuck me all the times he mentioned pepper just kill me

thor - his sarcasm and banter god he’s becoming such a lil shit i love him. his and tony’s argument over their girlfriends being the best was sO great

rhodey - another lil shit who i love so much oh u sweet angel i need more of u so bad. hiS JOKE ATTEMPTS. I JUST. guh. rhodey. rhodeyyyyy.

sam - the other best friend who i nEED WAY MORE OF. quadruple his scenes please. and i need sam and rhodey to become bffs because they’d bond over sO MUCH SHIT. love of flying, both being military, both having dumbass superhero best friends, both being black, both being snarky cute shits god giVE ME IT

natasha - fantastic 50% of the time, (with her teasing and flirtiness and fighting yass gimme) but was out of character 50% of the time when bruce was around. those red room visions/flashbacks were everything to me. and also nat + getting shit done is my otp fO SHO. ALSO AUNT NAT. GIMME IT. natasha can’t have children because she was violated and she’s not confident in her abilities to be a mother anyway, but she’ll happily be aunt nat. give me all of that. 

so clint. CLIIINT. i really wish they’d made him deaf tbh but sigh. i loved that he got more time though? he’s a sarcastic shit too i’m so :’) and okay i actually love that he has a secret family like that was too cute tbh

steeeb - better than avengers steve, not as good as cap 1 and cap 2 steve. that “language” line was ugh. i’m all for the avengers taking the shit out of him and calling him old man and making jokes about the past but steve is in his 20s, he’s not gonna be pissed at tony for saying “shit” in the middle of a battle. (dropping an f bomb in front of a little kid, sure, but not in a battle.) AND FUCK ME SIDEWAYS THE PEGGY VISION JUST KILL ME NOW

bruce.... idk mostly i’m like let me cuddle you and take away your pain. also lol that montage of him and tony doing SCIENCE was so fab. except then i didn’t like how he was with natasha and his science morals were off in this film.

which brings me to more on bruce/nat... i don’t get it tbh. it felt too foced and rthe chemistry wasn’t there when they weren’t hulk/nat. (but the hulk and nat hand holding shit was just. GOD. OUCH.) maybe if it had been more of a slow build and didn’t have that awful monster scene? but like. betty ross. betty rossss. ;_____;

AND OK THE TWINS. HOLLA WANDA I LOVE YOU THE MOST. (no seriously im so in love with her now tbh). and PIETRO. GUH. my heart. i’m still mad about the whitewashing, but in terms of being characters they were so great. but wtf, like i said before, they volunteered for hydra???? i guess if we accept that they’re not jewish in this film then it makes sense. but ooh i really did love the tie-ins to the Stark weapons history. and wow wanda’s visions were just. OUCH. she’s got all this rage and hurt bottled up inside her but now she’s an avenger and she’s dealing with it and ksjdhglkjsdfg baby

maria hill - gimme more of her. she’s so refreshing and takes no shit and i love it. i need a cap/sam/maria poly relationship tbh. or maria/nat.

fury - yassss fury u go fury, getting shield all fixed up and shit. yASSS.

Vision i was neutral about? i haven’t really read many of the comics so i didn’t know much about him but yeah, i enjoyed him. lol @ him being able to pick up the hammer. SUCH A GREAT RUNNING JOKE tbh.

Ultron was great. Such flawed computer logic, but so great. James Spader just made him be such a fucked up robot/person and i loved his deranged pinocchio mutterings... sometimes i forgot he was a robot/AI tbh.

Helen Cho was great!! YASSSSS for them having her play an a prominent scientist. Like. She’s female and she’s Korean. :’) I hope Marvel start having more diversity in their films. (which, if the new avengers become the main team, they totally will!!)

so yeah, overall i did enjoy it and there were lots of great moments among the kinda craziness of it all... but i think i enjoy it more for the individual characters than for the plot tbh.
