I miss you. More than the sun misses the moon. More than the stars miss the night. I miss you. And I’ve never even met you. ‘You can’t miss it if you’ve never had it.’ What a bunch of bull. I might not know your name, but I’ve kissed your lips a thousand times. I may not know what ethnicity you are, but I’ve traced your skin hundreds of times. I may not know the color of your eyes , but I’ve kissed your eyelids on moonless nights. I’ve cupped your tear stricken face and told you it was going to be alright. I might not know your favorite color, but I know that light in your eyes when you see it. I might not know your favorite drink, but I know that you’ll slurp it loudly just to annoy me and make me laugh. I may have never heard your laugh, but I can feel the high from our shared joy. I may never see you. Nor hear you. Or smell your favorite perfume. But until we meet, I’ll keep missing you.
