Timing   We know that this all happened in 2009, “just after” Michaela’s 19th Birthday—i.e., January 23, 2009.  Apparently, it wasn’t immediately after, though, since Brandon recalls it as “Spring 2009.”  Duggar Data is pretty confident that it was March 2009—which is arguably in the spring—based on this Post on FreeJinger, reporting that that’s when Michaela did Journey to The Heart.  (Unfortunately, the Post cites to a page that’s now deleted, so it’s impossible to verify.)

Birth Details   Jill planned a home birth attended by CPM Joy Coonfield.  (19 Kids & Counting (2–24–15), “Bridesmaids and Babies.”)  During labor, however, a number of complications arose.  Jill tested positive for Strep–B, and received IV antibiotics while in labor.  Her water broken on April 4, and she began laboring at home, as planned.  Unfortunately, she wasn’t progressing.  After 55 Hours, Jill noticed a “faint stain” of meconium and decided to go to the hospital.  Once there, she initially refused Pitocin or an epidural.  Later on, she agreed to both.  Still, no baby.  After about 70 Hours, Jill’s medical team determined that the baby had “flipped” into a transverse breach position, was in distress, and required urgent delivery.  At that point, Jill consented to an Emergency C–Section.  (See 19 Kids & Counting (5–5–15), “Jill’s Special Delivery.”)

Details   In 2011, Chad was working for IBLP.  He attended the Valentine Banquet as a photographer, and that’s where he first met Erin—who was at the banquet with her family, doing the music and singing.  The Paines invited the Bateses over for dinner the next day, and that’s when Chad + Erin took notice of each other as a potential romantic partner.

Details   After meeting in February 2011, Erin + Chad met again “later on that year,” at a conference in Texas—almost certainly the ATI Conference in Big Sandy.  During the conference, Erin + Chad got to know each other better, and “from then on ... pursued a relationship.”

After her 1st Miscarriage, Erin miscarried twice more.  (See Bringing Up Bates (1–8–15), “Courtship and Marriage.”  See Also.)  According to Erin’s OB–GYN, Dr. Vick, a clotting disorder—specifically, a deficiency in folic acid plus excess in PAI–1—cased all three losses.  (Id.)  With regard to Miscarriages #2 and #3, very little data is available.  Due dates and loss dates are unknown.

After Dr. Vick diagnosed Erin’s clotting disorder, daily Heparin injections during pregnancy enabled her carry multiple pregnancies to term...
