General Dæmon Rules
In this world, dæmons tend to 'settle' (stop changing forms) in their person's early 20s, lining up roughly with brain development
However, dæmons can settle earlier or later or never, depending on the circumstances. Perhaps someone has had to mature fast, or they have an early unshakeable conviction, or perhaps they are lost in themselves, or unable to commit to a form
Dæmons unsettling is very rare but can happen if someone's worldview fundamentally changes, or they go through some transformative experience of sorts. It is not unheard of for someone going through an incredibly hard time can come out the other end with a changed daemon
This AU is technically a few, as I will explore different event outcomes, and will also look into different dæmons for both the analytic and symbolism systems. The 'timeline' or version of a headcanon will be specified in a post, but sometimes this may be more vague
Separating from your dæmon is a concept that exists, and the ability can come from intense training but can also manifest in times of great emotional dysregulation, denying yourself completely tends to have consequences
Severing also exists but usually results in death. When it doesn't it still causes extreme illness and pain, people don't tend live for too long after with most practitioners skill levels
Touching another's dæmon is a thing but is generally looked down on as it is your soul and that thing is very precious! But it can be done both romantically or platonically between very close friends, it is not necessarily anything intimate, but permission to touch another's dæmon is taken very seriously and personally
