Does anyone remember Hikaru no Go? The manga drawn by the same guy who drew Death Note, so there’s all the anguished intensity of Death Note except it’s about playing board games at national level? The one where it’s Yu Gi Oh but instead of an Egyptian Pharaoh possessing a high school kid it’s a Sengoku Era Chess Master who possesses a high school kid? The one where the possessed kid uses his possession to win ‘go’ chess games? Instead of death matches it’s playing go with the same intensity?
There’s going to be a Chinese live action adaption with 36 eps coming out at the end of the year.
