So much to love at @txa.pintxobar, located on ground floor of @thealkaffmansion! It's mainly #pintxos (#Basque word for skewered snacks) so it's easy to order every single one (and more), but do save space for some of their other very scrummy offerings, such as the Txangurro a la Donostiarra ($14). My lovely birthday dinner took place at Alkaff Mansion Ristorante, a quiet, beautiful colonial house tucked away in the corner of Telok Blangah Green (halfway up Telok Blangah Hill). It was really romantic, especially since there were barely any patrons around on a Monday evening.
Here's what we had for our Italian dinner:
White wine (can't remember the name but it was really, really goooood)
Carpaccio di Filetto con Parmigiano Reggiano e Rucola/Ā Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio with Parmesan Cheese & Rucola (for appetisers; it was way too raw for me but it tasted pretty good)
Branzino al Sale con Flamma/Ā Oven Baked Sea Bass in Salt served FlambĆ© (mine!)
Porcetto Sardinyan Style/Ā Slow Cooked Sardinian Style Suckling Pig with Roasted Potatoes (his!)
Alkaff Mansion Tiramisuā/Ā Homemade Tiramisuā with Savoiardi & Mascarpone CreamĀ
Complimentary cheesecake-cupcake combo as it was my birthday with a quiet, fuss-free birthday song from the waiter
