Ā Ā Ā Admittedly, he was a bit nervous, but he tried his best not to let that show. If heād learned anything over the summer, it was that when faced with children who fancied themselves delinquents, you had to try your best not to let them know how nervousĀ you were to be working with them. He pushed his way into the detention room, setting his things on the desk before sitting down, swinging his feet under the chair for a few moments before standing back up and idly doodling on the chalkboard as he waited. Butterflies, stars, cats, dogs... Heād draw a rainbow if more colours were allotted to him, but heād make do with just the white chalk for now. Itās not as if he were teaching art class, or anything.Ā
A deep breath was taken as the bell rung, signalling the end of school for most of the children and staff members. He took a moment to sloppily writeĀ āMr. Davidā on the board, despite whatever kids showing up likely not needing to know his name as detention was a rather silent section of the day. The sound of the door opening grabbed his attention and he scrambled to sit back down as he turned his head in its direction, eyes lighting up with joy as he recognized the child before him.
āChucky?ā The light in his eyes was soon to die down, replaced with a very grave concernĀ as David tipped his head to the side a bit, frowning slightly. To anyone who didnāt know him, it might look as if he were disappointed, but in truth, he was really just worried.Ā āWhat are you doing here, kiddo? Is everything going all right at home?ā
