( ✉ → sms ) waaaaait are you using ‘alien’ as an adjective to describe that girl next door?? if so, first off, that’s a little rude because honestly aliens are better behaved than her

precious smol. precious smol needs to be protected. 

seriously though he needs to be protected & it makes her so upset that people go through things that he goes through?? she gets so caught up in aliens & being supergirl that she has to stop every once in a while & think about the people of her city + the people of earth & it terrifies her

it scares kara that there are so many people out there, they all have lives, they all have families, they all have jobs & goals & ambitions & dreams & a purpose in life & she thinks its terrifying & beautiful all at once

but she realizes that with all of these people’s goals & ambitions there are others there to knock them down & push them back into the ground again & kara doesn’t want that for jd. he believes in a world better than their own & she wants to do the same but her planet was supposed to be superior & look how that turned out. she wants to show him that maybe this world isn’t so bad after all. yeah, things can get tough, but it’s a beautiful world with beautiful people & there’s so much good in the world & she wants him to see that maybe where they are now isn’t so bad.

He felt bad. He watched him as he fidgeted with his hands. All he wants is to make sure he’s safe. That’s his job, to make sure anyone and everyone in this city stays safe. Oliver always grew up in a house filled with warmth and love even when the cold hands of death clamped themselves around his mother and him. He was never called worthless or unwanted and he could only imagine what it truly felt like.
