(A starter for @aliceplayer-syn !)
With Thursday out of the control booth, off on another one of her missions today, Cyrus has the control booth to himself. While they have both been under a lot of stress lately, they have been handling it quite differently - Thursday going off and keeping herself too occupied to stop and think about things too much, while Cyrus stops and thinks perhaps too much.
A lot of things have happened recently, not the least of which was the seance that brought forth the ghost of their Stanley alongside the ghosts of literally hundreds of his coworkers. And all of them were operating on a sort of countdown timer to figure out how to free them, otherwise they were all going to die. Again. A second death, worse than their physical death.
Cyrus sighs while he steeps his favorite lemon tea and adds the amount of honey that he likes to it. It’s nice to have some peace and quiet around here, even though it comes at the expense of his coworker running around, uselessly and endlessly trying to put out fires.
Between the silence and the lack of gunfire downstairs, he is beginning to think he might actually have a chance to sit down and work on some of his own writing.
That thought is quickly dashed when he hears something through the display monitor. He isn’t sure what it is, just that it’s some noise and that it has gotten his attention.
With another sigh, he picks up his cup of tea and takes it with him to his desk, setting it down before sitting down himself and checking the monitor...
...and receives a shock when he just barely catches a glimpse of a blue-clad, brown-haired young woman jumping out of one of the windows downstairs.
Is he imagining things or was that-
“Alice?” he says into the mic after switching it on. “Do I want to know why you are jumping out of the window like that? And didn’t Ellie ground us from you?”
He isn’t sure if she has heard him or not, and if she is any further than just a few feet right outside the window there’s a good chance she won’t have heard him because the Narrators cannot see or hear anything in the White Void™ beyond that point.
